1943 Remington Rand 1911A1
I bid on this pistol by accident on Gunbroker.com, I wanted another one but for some reason I clicked on this for starting Bid price, no other bidders. A re-arsenaled Remington Rand 1911A1 with an HS barrel, correct 1943 serial number, "FJA" and ordinance stamped on the frame. Great gun, n...

Re: Un-holstering a firearm in public
unless there is a law i don't know the cop is a moron. the law is brandishing. which means he intended to create fear by unholsfering. that doesnt happen in this case. Thats what they got him on, brandishing.. apparently it only takes one or two people to complain or act like they were in fear, thi...

Un-holstering a firearm in public
A guy at work last week was arrested for un-holstering his open carry sidearm in public to show someone his new Glock.. According to the officer, when a firearm is removed from it's holster in view of others (public setting) the intent is that the firearm will be used. I have always viewed intent as...

Re: AR Lower Reselling Question
I am not sure if this is pertinent information but as a FFL-03 (C&R) Holder I got a ton of rules and regulation books from the ATF and one section was on changing the firearm (922R Compliance) and by adding a 25 round Magazine to a SKS rifle for instance would change the compliance of the rifle ...

Re: My Vietnam era rifle
I can assure you right now that green tips and a 1 in 12 barrel don't mix, but you should try it to prove it to yourself. I will guess you will find the accuracy hits horrible at about the 50 yard mark. I can tell you I saw it done at Quantico Marine Corps Base. At 100 yards some of the rounds were...

Re: My Vietnam era rifle
The buttstock you just installed is actually an M16 stock. The M16A1's stock had a trap door with checkering on the door, but not the surrounding plastic. The length was the same as the M16's It also had rounder edges like the M16's. The A2's is much "squarer", longer (hence the need for ...

Re: My Vietnam era rifle
Very nice.....reminds me of 1967/68. Bill I had to build the M16A1 due to the Lower Receiver being a modern lower, the M16's had a flat side and no Forward Assist. in 1967, the XM16E1 was standardized as the M16A1. Major revisions to the design followed. The rifle was given a chrome-lined chamber t...

Re: Has anyone heard a Rock Band Madison Rising?
Like I said I haven't heard their other stuff. NASCAR fans aren't all into country, there are a lot of metal fans there as well. I think the big issue was that the fans expect the anthem to be sung with respect without the artist putting too much of their style into it. I had no issue with the begi...

Re: Has anyone heard a Rock Band Madison Rising?
I guess so, I had to look it up, but I don't think they botched it up, their an Alternative Rock band and the Lead Singer does some scream rock, thats how they sing it.. so I think the criticism was that they weren't Country and the Nascar crowed is not into Modern Rock Music. Boo Hoo Plus it's Live...

Re: My Vietnam era rifle
Did you have the upper and barrel refinished? They look almost new in the pictures. Not that I use a bayonet for anything but I like the idea of having them. I have one for my AR, M1A, M1 Garand, M1917, etc. It's sort of like having as many accessories for each rifle as I can get. Like getting a GI...

I picked up an original 1968 M16A1 Upper, Barrel, Front Sight, Full Auto Bolt Buttock and triangle Handguards.. Plus an added bonus of a M7 Bayonet I am waiting on the Rear Sight parts The Lower of course is a Repo since a Full auto Lower would be Expensive and difficult to purchase. http://s25.post...
