Re: What Gear For a Long Outing?

Skin them, flesh them, dry them and send them to the tannery. Cost about $28 to get one tanned. Once you get the hide back have a nice hat made or a pair of mittens or nice slippers. Really make great gifts or gear for yourself.

Re: What should be done about toy guns?

I was a cop for 20 years, retired in 2001. I was an FTO for the last few years. The guy driving the patrol car is an idiot. He drove up so close and so fast his partner, a rookie with only a few months on the road, had no time or distance to react any other way then what he did. The rookie, yelled 3...

Re: The 2014-2015 Virtual Buckpole

Opening day of Virginia rifle season. Cold morning, 28 degrees with a nice little stiff northern wind. Saw another spike buck at 30 yards about mid morning. Couldn't decide if I wanted to go back to the truck or not for lunch. Opted to stay in the stand. Right around noon this fella was walking alon...

Re: The 2014-2015 Virtual Buckpole

I was in my treestand swaying back and forth. I was hoping it would die down an hour or so before dark and have some fun, but it pretty much stayed the same. Still had a fun night! Good luck on your 8 pointer. I want to put a couple of does in the freezer and then hunt the rest of the year for a big...

Re: 4 beaver night!

No I'll be also going after muskrats, mink, otter, coon, fox, yotes and bobcat. This was actually the first night I was able to get any traps set this year. Muskrats are projected to selli for $12.00 - $13.50 this year.

Re: 4 beaver night!

Pelts. They are averaging $30-$60. These guys messed up becasue they flooded a road to the back hay fields. The road is 3 feet under water.

4 beaver night!

You gotta love it when your traps are full! Put out 4 sets night before last and would not wait to get out after work and check them. 4 sets 4 beaver. Got very lucky with the little one. #5 Bridger on the tail. :) Good to be lucky once in a while!! http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/medium/71404_102015...
