Re: Medication and mass shooters
Psychologists - as opposed to psychiatrists - have been saying this for a few years. It's a danger when you screw with the brain's chemistry. Sad, but true. If the Democrats and RINOs really cared about "just one life", they'd stop taking money from Big Pharm and start looking at real men...

Re: 1911 or AR
If the colt is the expanse, pass on it. You can get the colt 6920 right now for around 850 if you look hard enough. Since you have pistols and no AR, I'd say get an AR. I personally wouldn't own either a 1911 or AR that is a "bargain gun ". They typically have issues if used often. Either ...

Gun belt. Get one. I use the magpul Tejas and I couldn't be happier.
Use a good holster owb or iwb depending on personal preference. I use either one depending on what I wear and what I'm carrying.

Re: Opinions: Silencerco Omega and SIG SRD556Ti
Silencerco has been at the game for years. They put out some quality products. Sig makes some fine products but sometimes the QC can be hit or miss. I'd rather get something that would be worth the hassle of the stamp. Gemtec makes a good piece as well although last time I used one was in 2005. Sent...

"Cause any caliber would have worked as well in that setting" is the point. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://vagunforum.net/images/mobile.png 5.7= high round capacity, very low recoil, and more effective/accurate at distance. Therefore making it easier to shoot quickly and accuratel...

Safe Dealers in Northern VA?
Tractor supply has safes. Not sure if they deliver though. Gander mountain carries safes as well. Also, look up locksmiths and security companies in the area. I know some of these guys carry safes.

Re: Article: Army wants a harder-hitting pistol
I don't think the Ft. Hood shooting is a fair representation of effectiveness. The 5.7 worked great, as would any caliber in that setting, until met with armed resistance. And, yes, pistol rounds suck, comparatively speaking. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://vagunforum.net/images/mobile.png W...

AR Lower Reselling Question
Is it still just a stripped lower? If it is, sell it as such, but considering you don't need to do paperwork to sell it in VA, it's a moot matter. If you sell it and have to ship it to an FFL, let the FFL worry about it. They'll just label it as they see it, a receiver. That's what the manufacturer ...

Re: FBI going to 9mm pistols?
Most law enforcement is going back to the 9mm. They've seen the light and now know that handguns in general suck. There's no difference between 9-.45 Ballistically so they're opting for the highest capacity and lowest recoil.

AR Lower Reselling Question
You can do whatever you want with it. Plain and simple. If you SBR it, get an NFA tax stamp. If you don't know what that is, don't worry about it, just keep the barrel 16" or more. A lower is nothing more than a receiver and that's how it's classified. You can do whatever you want with it. You ...

Article: Army wants a harder-hitting pistol
To be honest, I think the 5.7 pistol would be a great choice as a replacement and here's why: 1-the round is effective(look at the first Ft Hood shooting). 2-There is very little recoil. 3-It is very accurate. 4-It weighs less than other rounds. 5-It holds 20 rounds. 6-It can penetrate body armor ea...

Re: Article: Army wants a harder-hitting pistol
I'd bet my life savings on the current M9 continuing it's rein as the official sidearm... There may be a change in ammo design, but I doubt it. Every now and then Big Army likes to get everyone's hopes up only to drop it like its hot. This isn't the first time they've done this, it surely won't be t...

Re: 7.5" to 10" SBR - Barrel Life Expectancy?
10.3 is the shortest length you can go and still be effective out past CQB distances. That's why the MK18 is the length it is. A barrels length has nothing to do with longevity or barrel erosion. 5.56 is ideal for home defense because it is so fast and the bullet so light that it has a tendency to l...

I heard a rumor that the PPQ was being made in the Umarex building down the road from the main Walther facility. That doesn't exactly give me a warm and fuzzy. It may be not true so double check if your worried. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://vagunforum.net/images/mobile.png Hey man, just b...

Re: Just moved to VA, question regarding "proof of competency"
Hello all! I was born in WV, moved to the PRNJ (peoples republic of NJ), then to a more gun friendly state in DE where I OC'd regularly. I just moved to Locust Grove, VA this weekend, and have never had a concealed permit before. VA requires "proof of handgun competency" for the CHP's.......

Re: Walther firearms?
I'll pass. That trigger guard mag release is the dumbest thing I've ever seen, and its not intuitive. Once you get used to it, it works fantastic.. No need in shifting hand positions to drop a mag. No worry about an accidental mag release, if you primary side isn't working well you will have no pro...

As of late, Walther firearms is now located in Fort Smith AR. So no more S&W middle to go through as I understand it now. Good job moving away from bersa and the .380 btw..

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/16/ena6yza2.jpg I just picked up a PPQ yesterday... All I can say is that I should've bought one back in 2011 when I first held one.
