Re: Is OCing accepted by the multitude?
I became accustomed to open carry because I started carrying before I was 21. Since then I got my concealed carry but barely conceal. When I do it's usually in a jacket or backpack. I can say though that I've never had a negative experience open carrying.

Re: Bikers and Riders in VA - Fill me in
Hey I go to school in Radford about 15 minutes from Blacksburg. I ride a kawasaki z1000 and love the roads down here compared to back home in fairfax. Check out the blue ridge parkway near by and any of the countless back roads. Sadly it's getting to that point where it's to cold to ride. When you g...

Hey guys my names Zach and I go to Radford University. My fraternity, Pi Kappa Phi, is doing a fundraiser to raise money for our national philanthropy, Push America. Push Americas primary focus is helping people with disabilities. I will post the about section from their website below. Basically wer...

Re: Open Carry questions, I'm new to VA
If your open carrying before you get into the car then your still considered open carrying when your in the car. There's no need to remove your firearm. And it is perfectly legal and recommended to carry loaded with one in the chamber.

Re: Ridiculous CHP process in Radford
Hey guys my CHP was approved and I have it now. I think I'll still write a letter to the Chief Justice so hopefully other people won't have to deal with this judge asking them to appear in court.

Re: Question OC
I started open carrying a Glock 30 when I was 19. It's a .45 and holds 10+1 but is still small enough to conceal comfortably if you ever decide to get your CHP. You'll probably like the double stack .45 as well because the grip is a little thicker than most.

Re: Ridiculous CHP process in Radford
Mamabear you report judges like this to the Chief Justice of VA. I will be doing so but I wanted to find out his "decision" first to include in the report.

Re: Ridiculous CHP process in Radford
Hey guys just wanted to let you know after talking to some people from VCDL I decided I'd rather not show up for the court hearing. I suppose all I can do now is wait to see the decision in the mail.

Re: Ridiculous CHP process in Radford
Just got done sending a detailed e-mail to the president and vice president of VCDL. Tomorrow I'm going to try and see if there's anyway to file a complaint to the VA Chief Justice besides mail but worst case I'll just print out the same e-mail I sent but addressed the the Chief Justice and send it ...

Re: Ridiculous CHP process in Radford
Drybones I walked out with the certified copy. The judge will still have my original copy. The certified copy serves as a de facto permit until a decision is made. As for another update the clerk just called me to let me know the judge says I still need to show up for the court hearing Friday. I ask...

Re: Ridiculous CHP process in Radford
Haha as y'all figured out I am a criminal justice major at Radford University. Just finishing up my junior year now. As for an update I just got back from the clerks office. They had never heard of the 45 day rule but after I explained it to them and they checked their manual they were very prompt a...

Re: Ridiculous CHP process in Radford
DryBones getting it notarized is not required when you first apply but after 45 days if you get it notarized confirming its been 45 days you can carry until the judge makes a decision.

Re: Ridiculous CHP process in Radford
Thanks for the responses guys. I am going to go in Monday and get my application notarized (Id like to see them try and refuse) and leave the clerk a "letter" for the judge as I am not wasting my time going in there and sitting among criminals. And I'm going to send VDCL a report of the wh...

Ridiculous CHP process in Radford
Hey guys just wanted to rant about my CHP process and get some advice. I put in my application on March 21st and on 4/29 got a call from the Clerk saying the judge wanted to meet with me. I was already irritated because I didn't see anywhere under the application guidelines or law that meeting with ...
