Re: Va handgun purchasing rules
The dealer at the gun show cancelled the sale. I was still delayed on the check at Green Top but got it the next day. The Bodyguard is great. So great, I may sell it. I like it well enough but after shooting it, I find that I'm better with a j frame. So now I'm on to the next great thing I guess. Yo...

Local refinishing services
I have a pistol with some slide wear and I'd like to refinish it like when it was new. Nothing fancy. Can anyone recommend someone who does this in the Richmond va area? If not, who would you trust elsewhere?

Why do you think you found it difficult to shoot well?

Trade Glock 19 Gen 4 for Walther PPS
My CHP is processing and I'm interested in starting to carry. I have a Glock 19 Gen 4 with 50 rounds on it. Even though it is "compact" when I look at carrying it, it seems huge. I wear slacks and a button down shirt tucked in every day. I can't imagine trying to conceal a Glock 19 in that...

Re: Where to get Gunzilla
chuckjordan2, have you ever used the finish line dry teflon lubricant? I've read some pretty good reviews of that. how is it different than the Krytech?

Where to get Gunzilla
I've heard some good things about Gunzilla and I'd like to try it but I've only seen it available online. Does anyone know you can get this anywhere near Richmond VA? I'd rather not pay shipping on something like this.

Online Classes vs. Classroom Classes
I'd like to get my concealed handgun permit soon. I've read the requirements and according to this forum seems to recommend the online CHP class. Online is definitely cheaper but not by that much. Which do you recommend and why? I'm not new to firearms, I understand basic safety but I am new to conc...

Re: Va handgun purchasing rules
Well, I put the Bodyguard on hold and went back today at lunch to take a look at it. The manager of the gun counter was familar with it. Turns out a lady bought it new and returned it/sold it back a week or so later saying she decided she didn't want to own a gun. So if it's been shot at all, it has...

Re: Va handgun purchasing rules
The gun is actually at Green Top. They graded it as excellent and Bodyguards haven't been out that long so it's not that old. There was not much wear on the barrel - outside - and inside looks pretty good but I don't think it had been cleaned since last fired so it's hard to tell what the inside loo...

Re: Va handgun purchasing rules
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I found a used one this morning that looks to be in good condition for $299. That's about what I wanted to spend. Since I'm on the question and answer forum, I have another question. Most of my purchases have been new. What do I look for in a semi to determine h...

Thanks both for taking the time to explain this to me. Now if I can only find a Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .380 somewhere, I'll be cooking.

Re: Va handgun purchasing rules
I've asked the dealer at the gun show to call it in as a no sale to the VA State Police but I'm not sure he will or has. So it sounds like there's no problem with me doing another check and buying a gun somewhere else. I guess if the State Police thinks the transfer was made at the gun show, they wi...

Re: Va handgun purchasing rules
Yes, Nemo24. I filled out the background check and papwerwork and was approved but never purchased/took delivery of the gun. I want to know if I need to wait 30 days to purchase one or if, since I was approved, I can purchase one now. If I can purchase one now, what do I tell the store? They will wa...

Va handgun purchasing rules
Hi, I'm a new member and I have a question. I was at the gun show in Richmond this weekend. I found a handgun I wanted and filled out the forms on Saturday at 1:00. My application was delayed, not sure why. The dealer took my number and said he would call me. I got a call on Sunday at 2:00. I couldn...
