Re: Carrying in your car...
Suppose that, upon being pulled over, a non-chp holder just stuck his gun on the dashboard after stopping the vehicle, but before the officer approached, and then just kept his hands glued to the steering wheel. When the officer approaches the vehicle, immediately (and respectfully!!) point out the...

Re: Carrying in your car...
I think you're looking too hard for a bright-line, always correct, rule that applies in every conceivable situation. Not really what I am looking for is a general consensus about this issue. I am not trying to be a pain (and sorry if I am coming off that way) but I posted this question both here an...

Re: Carrying in your car...
So by this reasoning, If I go into a restaurant then I can not sit with my gun-side towards a wall because that would make my gun "hidden from common observation" I am not talking about covering my gun with my shirt tail, jacket or duffelbag here, the gun on my side is not "covered up...

Re: Carrying in your car...
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but am I reading this right? Is having my gun holstered on my side considered concealed while I am in my car? If it is "hidden from common observation," then yes. The general idea is if someone looking at you would not be able to see that you have a gun on...

Re: Top 10 cities America's veterans call home
I have to laugh when I hear people say how bad the crime is in Norfolk and Portsmouth. I have lived in this area all of my life and while there are some areas that have more crime than others I have never once 'feared for my life' and can't think of any areas that I wouldn't walk down the street at ...

Re: Where did you carry today? V1.0
since I don't have my CHP (yet) I OC everywhere I go and have really had no problems anywhere in Hampton Roads, until yesterday and even that wasn't a 'problem' I went into the Lafayette Branch of the Norfolk Public Library with my CW9 holstered on my hip and was informed by library personnel that g...

Re: Carrying in your car...
you can already legally have it in the console...or the glovebox...or any other compartment your car may have. Its just has to be in a different compartment than you. No permit needed unless you want to actually have it in a holster strapped on you while driving Sorry to bring up an old thread, but...

Hello from Norfolk
Hey guys, the name is Tomme. I am 30 and currently live in Norfolk. I found the site while checking facts on legality issues and figured I would join. I don't have many guns (just a couple of hand guns and a .22 rifle) but like to know my rights. I look forward to checking out and posting on the sit...
