Re: First Timer - Spring Squirrel Season?
You'll find a lot of ways to skin a squirrel. I do similar to Machias. Except I don't keep the body. I just retain the legs. If you get your bag limit, you get a decent mess of squirrel legs, without any mess of the entrails. Fry them up like chicken wings. This method works great with redheads (22 ...

Re: Who generally has the best prices on handgun ammo in va?
Most of the ammo that people claim are "steel core" is not.
It's a bi-metal jacket. Lead core, soft steel jacket, then a copper jacket.
Regardless, the steel under the copper does have a very small possibility of causing a spark.

Re: Gap in notifications in VA Tech shootings
I will say two things about this...one, hindsight is 20/20....and there was an elderly Israeli Professor(Im sorry I don't recall his name, shame on me) who held the door while twenty plus able- bodied young people fled the room via a window while this man was shot to death through the door....I sug...

I agree 100%
I was a student at VT in 01-03, and am now back on campus as a student (resumed class in 08).
It befuddles me why for fear of my academic career I can carry on one side of the street, and not the other

Re: Which pistol powder drops best in Lee Pro Auto?
I've been using a Lee Pro 1000 to load 45 ACP, using the same Auto-Disc. I've found Alliant Unique to be fairly consistent. Then again, I haven't tried any other powders. I use a Hornady balance scale, and whenever I set up for a new load, once the first few throws are done, the auto-disc and Allian...

Have you checked out KTOG.org?
I've been fairly impressed with my P11. I bought mine new, and thus it is covered by Kel-Tec's lifetime warranty, haven't had to take advantage of it yet (but then again, I just bought it within the past month).
Visit KTOG and give the Kel-Tec a fair shake.

Recommendations for training class and facility?
I really want both my fiance and I to attend some type of practical pistol course. While I'm not new to firearms, I've never really received any instruction on handguns.... I just read some articles and did what felt comfortable and gave the best results. I think I'm looking for some type of intro t...

Re: Kel-Tec Pf9
I shot one this past Wednesday. Revolver-like trigger pull, a little snappy, but the recoil really isn't that bad.
Good enough for SD distances.
I ordered a P11, and plan on buying a PF9 next time I get some extra money.

http://i566.photobucket.com/albums/ss104/k5mitch/piece2.jpg What did this come from? Looks like a 10/22 trigger group to me.. Yup! A REALLY dirty one! I traded for a pre warning 10/22 and I don't think it has EVER been cleaned! Take it away Mitch... The thing that gives it away is the tiny spring.....
