Re: Chantilly gun show
My son is in on leave so we tried to go to the show Friday afternoon. At ~ 1530 the parking lots were jammed, the aisles were packed with cars searching for slots, the lines stretched 'way, 'way around the building. We decided that even if we could get inside, we wouldn't be able to see much, or to ...

Re: Ruger LCP vs. SW Bodyguard (.380)
I have a Mika pocket holster for my LCP. It works very well for me, and is very reasonably priced.

Re: Your thoughts on the Ruger SP101
I am very fond of my SP101 DAO .357 Magnum. I use it as a kit gun more than an EDC, however. I received it with Pachmayr grips, tried Hogue grips, and have gone back to the factory grips because they're the most comfortable and practical for me just now. I don't think you can go wrong at all with th...

Re: Chantilly show today
I went with a friend before they opened on Friday, in time to find parking and wait 30 minutes before the doors opened. Luckily they allow you to buy your tickets beforehand, so we passed the time in line chatting with others and exchanging ideas. The Friday show was as crowded as a normal Saturday ...

Hatfields did a nice job overhauling my well-used Ruger Mk II. They were prompt, friendly, and reasonably priced.

Re: Appleseeds
Somewhere on the forum is a query I sent yesterday regarding VGOF folks who participate in Appleseed. ( I'm still woozy from surgery so I haven't located it.) I appreciate your info, and hope to get to an Appleseed later this year. Looks like a good shooting game for geezers like me....

Appleseed events in VA?
I've been trying to get started with the Appleseed shooting game, and have both an M1 Garand and a Ruger 10/22 set up for it. But with having to go overseas for work this Spring, followed by a series of medical/surgical problems, I haven't yet been able to do so. I'm hoping to try again this Fall or...

Re: Crickett Youth Rifle
My sons learned using a Marlin 15Y single shot. Very accurate and nice to look at. They've grown up and moved on to other firearms, but my wife won't let me trade it -- says she's saving it for grandkids to learn on. Oh well....

The clerk in the Circuit Clerk's office in Fairfax has been extremely helpful and friendly each time I, my wife, or my son obtained or renewed our CHP. Nice to do business with her, and I hope others appreciate her work as well.

I've been a member for several years, and shoot there fairly often. I appreciate its new look after renovation. Will wear my VGOF tag next time and see if anyone else from the forum is there!

Re: VGOF T-shirts - Please Vote!
I will vote for one of the Molon Labe variations (have to look them over and think about color, etc. etc.), but just in case -- I think someone should proofread the "Sic Semper Tyrannis" version. It looks like "Tyrannus" on my screen, and I don't think that's correct spelling.
