Re: Bedding rifles for accuracy?
So you think there is a larger effect from things shifting from shot to shot and less from harmonics but both play a part?

Bedding rifles for accuracy?
It seems common knowledge that bedding a rifles receiver to the stock improves accuracy. Is it because it absorbs vibration from the hammer strike/firing pin/detonation because of more contact area? If yes, would a softer bedding compound or plastic shims work better?

Re: M&P .40 VS Glock 22
I too own a glock 22 and rented an m&p at a range in va beach. Fell in love with it immediately. Always liked the glock but the m&p is sooo much more comfortable with a better stock trigger. You can get as good of or slightly better trigger with the glock if you change a few things but then ...

Yeah, like gun registration. This guy had an illegal "unregistered" weapon, or they trace a gun instantly to the "registered owner".Diomed wrote:Of course, they get plenty of other stuff wrong, too. Especially gun laws. More screenwriters assuming everywhere is like California.

Re: What's your Hollywood firearm pet peeve?
Well, to be fair, my understanding is that the 10mm does have *slightly* higher velocity than the standard .40 and is a *slightly* longer round (like 22 mm versus 25 mm cartridge length -meaning more propellant?). Oh no he didn't. At least 200fps and up to 400fps higher velocity in a 180gr loading ...

Re: What's your Hollywood firearm pet peeve?
The seemingly complete lack of recoil, instant death from a pistol shot to the shoulder, a five second death where the bad guy has time to lift up his hand to touch a bullet hole in his forehead, huge muzzle flashes, the click sound everytime someone points a gun no matter what kind. Someone said th...

Bullet seating depth and accuracy
How do bullet seating depth variations relate to accuracy? Does distance to the lands or changes in pressure/velocity have more to do with it? How much variation does it take to be noticable?

Re: Glock Grip Reduction in Va?
Just remember when you cut your glock you can't go back. I still wonder now and then if I should have just sold my g20 and went with something else that fit my hand in stock form. It irks me that its not stock but it makes sense to make what is essentially a tool work for you.

Re: Glock Grip Reduction in Va?
VERY little material can be removed around the trigger housing pin area, backstrap hump can be removed without ever going through the plastic into the backstrap channel but you want to fill it anyway for strength. Why no love for the M&P?

Re: Glock Grip Reduction in Va?
Have you considered doing this yourself? I did my G20 a few years ago and it turned out quite nicely. There are pictures if you look under my posts. Every once in a while I consider selling it then change my mind.

Re: reloading advice
I straightened and reloaded the dinged cases in the pics - they split when fired. I toss those cases now, I personally don't think it's worth it Thanks for the info. I don't have any cases nearly that bad, just small dents about a third of the way down on most of my 10mm cases. None of the .40s hav...

Re: reloading advice
What are you reloading it for? I recently tried some of the plated bullets (Rainier and Berry's) in my Glock and the groups were more like patterns from a shot gun. They went every which direction and made funny looking holes in the paper (already starting to tumble???). I'm going to try the plated...

Re: reloading advice
Thanks for the info so far. Great stuff. I have heard not to use powder dippers but never a reason, so I plan to get a measure. I may use the lee that comes with the kit, I have read ball powder meters better so I might just start out with that. Anyone know who has the best prices on at least plated...

reloading advice
Im now seriously considering getting into reloading and need some advice. I will be reloading .40/10mm for now with others soon to follow i'm sure. I can narrow it down further by saying i am a perfectionist and have no desire to quickly produce lots of rounds. So I'm looking at single stage press k...

MCX gun purchases?
Does anyone know if guns are excluded from tax like everything else? Are the prices comparable to other gun shops? Will they order guns they don't have in stock?

sig 229 .22lr + 9mm conversion
Found a sig 229 .22lr on topgunsupply for $500. A x-change 9mm conversion was like $350. A sig 229 in 9mm is about $850 and a .22lr conversion is $350. So what is the deal here? Is the 9mm conversion unlikely to fit and function well or what. Is the .22lr 229 inferior in some way?
