Roanoke area folks... where to get a headliner fixed?

The headliner in my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee is sagging badly. Anyone in the Roanoke area able to recommend a shop that does headliner repair? I typically tackle all things mechanical but my wife doesn't want me messing with the cosmetic stuff. Not that I blame her... if it was up to me I'd just r...

Re: CCW change of address question

Thanks very much folks. I'll go back to the clerk's office and formally request an updated permit and see where that gets me. Regardless of the lack of legal requirements to update my permit, I'd feel better having it updated. Also, I guess the Franklin County circuit court clerks also need to brush...

Re: CCW change of address question

edit: I posted the comment below before I saw OakRidgeStars post. At least I know it's still valid. I just don't want to bump into a LEO that may not be up to speed on the policy and go through undue hassle as a result. Well, it seems like no one in the gov really knows what the policy is. I spoke t...

CCW change of address question

I recently changed my permanent address from Roanoke City to Franklin County. I hit up the Roanoke City court clerk's office this afternoon and filled out the requisite change of address paperwork. Upon asking the clerk when I would be receiving an updated permit, she informed me I wouldn't be recei...

Almost turkey season - optics on my turkey gun?

It's almost that time of year to bag some spring gobblers. While I really like the fiber optic open sights on my Mossberg 835, I've been entertaining the idea of optics. Anyone using optics on their turkey gun? If so, what are you using and how do you like it? I've got an EOtech 552 on one of my AR'...

Re: Anti-Gun VA State Senator Creates Hurdle for Gun Bills

Absolutely outrageous. Leave it to the Dems to backdoor their way into killing pro-gun legislation. I've already emailed the sub-committee members expressing my desire that they consider these bills fairly. I'm not holding my breath.

Re: Pearce plus mag extensions

Wow. That's the first I've heard of a Pearce +1 having that type of malfunction. My EDC is a G36 and I use a Pearce +0 on both of my carry mags. I do have a couple of mags with the Pearce +1, but I use those for range use only and have never noticed any issues with them.

220 Pawn and Gun?

Anyone been in the recently opened "220 Pawn and Gun" just south of Roanoke on US220? I commute to Roanoke from Bassett with my wife every day and she hasn't been too keen on stopping in the evenings! Just wondering what kind of selection these guys have.

Let's just pray that no more vacancies occur on the SC while Obama is in power. I'd hate to see Heller be in jeopardy.

Re: My garden is feeding the wildlife...

Hope you folks had a good Memorial Day weekend. I did end up taking out a few rabbits... have to preserve my own food supply. I took the opportunity to scope my 10/22. It was almost too easy. CCI Stingers move out pretty good. 10/22 + Green Mountain bull barrel + 3x9-40 Nikon + CCI = not so many hop...

Re: Early Father's Day and BD present

Very nice. I need a second safe and with Father's Day coming up, seems like a great opportunity!

I have a Liberty 24 gun safe now but it doesn't quite hold the advertised load. In my mind, more safes = more guns... just hope my wife sees things the same way!

Re: My garden is feeding the wildlife...

I usually get one groundhog a year in my garden. The one last year took a Barnes Varmit grenade at 42 yards. I noticed Wednesday there was a rabbit scoping things out in it. If he's in the front yard eating the wifes flowers thats one thing but in the garden he's gotta go. :pistol: I've got a metri...

My garden is feeding the wildlife...

Guess it's time for an electric fence to try and keep the deer out of my garden. But, the deer aren't the only critters getting a free meal. While I was on my porch swing last evening, I saw no less than three cottontails enter the garden. Right before dusk, a ground hog made the mistake of trying t...

Re: Recommendations for a BP rifle?

Bud's has the TC Omega Z5 .50cal with "premium pack" for $327 delivered. Sounds like a reasonable deal? It comes with: (1) Extended Super Jag (1) Breech plug wrench (1) Composite T-handle (1) 4oz. Bottle of #13 bore cleaner (1) ¾ oz. Natural Lube 1000+ (20) Cleaning Patches (1) Super Lube ...

Recommendations for a BP rifle?

I'm looking to venture into the black powder game so I can take advantage of black powder deer season in the fall and also participate in a managed hunt that only allows archery tackle and black powder.

I'd like to stay under $500. I'm assuming .45 cal is enough for whitetail?

Thanks!

Re: What happened to Walmart.com gun pages?

What it said was if your store didn't have in stock the gun you wanted then go to their website, find the one you want, print the page with the item number and take it to your local wally world for them to order for you. You couldn't order firearms from the site so I can't understand why they did a...

Re: The new Ruger AR...

New AR!! I recently picked up a Stag M4 mil-spec, so it might be a while before I consider another AR... I read a recent review that said the piston driven design wasn't as "jarring" as other AR platforms - I'm not sure I've ever fired an AR that would be considered "jarring&q...
