Re: Rifle transfer question...
I found this on the ATF website. I assume when they're talking about "licensee," they mean an FFL dealer. A person may only acquire a firearm within the person’s own State, except that he or she may purchase or otherwise acquire a rifle or shotgun, in person, at a licensee’s premises in an...

Rifle transfer question...
Hi all, Have a question. I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I just want to make sure. Here's the situation: I've worked out a trade with someone who lives in Maryland. The type of firearms are irrelevant, but I'm trading a rifle I have for a rifle he has. Obviously we have to go through an FFL, ...

Re: Remington R25's
I don't have any first-hand experience with R-25s, but a good friend of mine has one in 7mm-08 and he absolutely loves it.
I do, however, have an R-15 in .450 Bushmaster and its hands-down my favorite gun.

Re: 3 gun matches?
There's a new place that opened up in Glengary, WV. Peacemaker National Training Center. I've been a member there for a few months now, and the place is amazing.

Re: .300 Win Mag Rifles
So, a couple of things actually. Number one, I truly enjoy long range, precision shooting (i refuse to say "sniper." i will not belittle what our real snipers do). I plan on taking a class in the next few months at a facility close to me in West Virginia (Storm Mountain). Shooting accurate...

Re: .300 Win Mag Rifles
I can't tell you guys enough how much I appreciate the info. Like I said, I haven't ruled out another .308 by any means. I'll make a decision here in the next month or so.

Re: .300 Win Mag Rifles
So, that's actually something else I'm considering. I have a 700 ADL .308 I bought a few months ago - primarily for hunting - that I'm looking at turning into a more accurate tack driver (i.e. new B&C stock, etc.).

Re: Long guns in car...
I am near positive that none of what you posted is necessary. I know that ammo does not need to be locked up, and I believe rifles don't need to be locked, except maybe near a school. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://vagunforum.net/images/mobile.png Is that rule just for handguns then?

Long guns in car...
So, I realize you need to lock up both the firearm and the ammo; however, do they need to be locked up separate from each other? For example, I have a Jeep Wrangler (so no trunk). When I lock them up in the back, should I keep the ammo in a separate "box"?

Re: .300 Win Mag Rifles
Although I don't hand load yet, I do plan on learning and doing it at some point very soon. The .338 Lapua wasn't on my radar initially, but I may took a look at it when I'm searching around. I've had my eye on the Savage 110 BA, which is offered in both calibers, but I'd like to find a dealer who h...

Re: .300 Win Mag Rifles
I'm probably looking at more of a precision-type rifle. 2 very important questions. Whats the budget? What distances do you intend to shoot? Ah, yes, thank you. Forgot to include those. 1. 500 yards plus 2. $2500-$3500 (including scope. i'm planning roughly $1K for a scope) Now, obviously I'd prefe...

What about if you're in an SUV and don't have a concealed carry? How are you supposed to keep gun and ammo in a trunk and locked? :-/

.300 Win Mag Rifles
What's everyone's favorite? I'm looking at getting one in the next month or so, and I'd like someone opinions. I understand they should probably be broken out into two groups: 1) hunting rifles, and 2) precision rifles. I'm probably looking at more of a precision-type rifle, but I'm also open to buy...

Which AR to buy?
Just my 2 cents, but I'm a big fan of the MR1. I've shot one before and immediately fell in love with it. Although it's not a traditional AR, I think it's fantastic. And you definitely won't see at every range you go to.

Re: May be moving to Herndon/Sterling/Chantilly area...
For what's it worth, when I first moved here back in January I lived in Herndon for about a month and couldn't stand it (mostly just the sheer number of people). I ended up moving out to Winchester and am MUCH happier. Having said that, I work from home and don't have to drive to an office, so it ma...

Re: Bushmaster .450
Interesting. Thank you for the comment!
Ammo price weighed pretty heavily in my decision to go with the .450 BM over the. 458. I don't reload (not yet, anyway), and I didn't feel like paying $68.99/box (current price from Midway).

Re: Bushmaster .450
I figured it would be good for those occasions when just reaching out and touching something wasn't enough,,, Smacking it hard and solid would do the job much better!! Sounds like a good combo... I am thinking of one myself on a Stag Lower, I don't think you'll be disappointed! When I was looking f...

Re: Bushmaster .450
For those looking for a larger caliber in the AR platform Bushmaster has just introduced one in .450 cal. Definitely could rock a few things with it... http://www.bushmaster.com/catalog_xm15_BCWVMS20-45.asp I have a 16" .450 upper on a Rock River Arms lower and I love it!! Very accurate out to...
