I picked up a used T/C Encore in .45 and love it. I've hunted BP and normal rifle season for the past 5 years with it. Like it better than my .30-06. If I was having to buy another, it would be a new Encore in .50 cal. There are just a few more choices of bullets and they are easier to come by.

Franklin Outdoors (in Rocky Mount) has some on the shelves the other week. I shoot a .45 Encore so I didn't think much of it.Vahunter wrote:The "white stuff" is IMR's answer to Hodgon's 777. I haven't seen it on shelves yet.

I know that in my S&W model 19-3 (.357 mag), I won't load up hot rounds under 158gr. There is a bit of rumor that (I have not personally seen it) where a hot loaded 125gr diet through older S&W K frame model 19's will cause cracking of the forcing cone. More than likely, I could shoot as muc...
