Thanks very much for the tip, gatorbait. I've got the coltautos.com site in my Favorites list already. I'm trying to restrain myself from drooling over any mil-spec 1911 I can find, esp Colt. Need to get a part time job...

Thanks for the comments. I had a Ruger MkII but seemed to have a problem with fouling brass and stove pipe jams. Wasn't that much fun shooting because cleaning the brass shavings was a pain. Unfortunately the pistol was stolen, so I'll never know how much fun it could have been. I have a NEF .22 9-s...

Have you considered transplanting a black snake to one of the trees with squirrels? It'll take a while but very effective.

As it turns out only the perp was hit and he survived for trial. A good thing. OTOH, if a LEO is forced to use deadly force (as it appears these officers were) isn't the object to hit COM and drop the target?
