VCDL member gets Couric to admit she prefers armed security
I was part of that panel last year that Katie Couric interviewed. Seems that I recalled that someone had gotten Katie to actually admit that she would prefer a security guard with a gun vs. someone "with a billy club". Now we have the proof. Here it is. https://youtu.be/fPvuX6wM64w?t=4910 ...

Yeah, some VCDL folks went. And the antis don't seem to like it.

New pro-2A rap song -- Lightly Burnin'
This is my "op-ed", a rap version of an ode to the Second Amendment. I call it, Lightly Burnin' , and it is inspired by tomorrow's elections. For that matter, it applies to any election. Some of you may remember a piece I wrote a few years ago, called, "The Amazing Mould", an alt...

Re: My First Reloads
I am now thinking that getting a hand held priming system may be the way to go. Although I love the Lee Pro 1000 press I have, I am not entirely comfortable with the way the priming system is working. I'll keep working on it though. Thanks to all for the advice, I appreciate it. You might want to c...

Here's Episode 28. Title: "God, Guns, and Religion!" http://liberalsguncorner.com/2013/12/10/god-guns-and-religion/ We do a lot of talking about guns this time. In the first segment, we discuss Ruger's relatively new SR-45 pistol, chambered for .45 ACP. You get my initial impressions of it...

Re: Reloading Boxer-primed steel cases in .45 ACP
Quite correct, that's exactly what any lube does, including the oil in automobiles. That's also why a decent-quality car that's properly cared for will not need its engine rebuilt for hundreds of thousands of miles. Same goes for dies. Additionally, the steel in the dies is way harder than the mild,...

Re: Reloading Boxer-primed steel cases in .45 ACP
Well, I had a steel case split on me. It looked like it split just like the brass cases do when they give out. Seriously, the split looks identical. This split case ejected as any other (brass) split case would, too. Given this, I really don't know what all this fear is about. This batch is now on i...

Re: Reloading Boxer-primed steel cases in .45 ACP
That is true about it taking a little more priming force than some brass cases. Actually, the steel cases felt a lot like priming Speer brass cases. Palladin's concerns and that "nagging voice" are not to be overlooked, though. Perhaps the promising results that I'm seeing are due to the r...

Re: .223/5.56 rifle that shoots STEEL case ammo?
Mini-14 seems handle it well. Search the web under "Mini-14 steel cased ammo" and you'll see a ton of posts with a big thumbs up. There are suggestions that the berdan primers are "hard" on the firing pin and may break them. My gut suggests something else is contributory like fp...

Reloading Boxer-primed steel cases in .45 ACP
Been doing some experiments with the (relatively) newer Boxer-primed steel cases that now come in from Russia. These are the ones typically headstamped Wolf or Tulammo. I have a batch of 19 cases that I'm test-firing until failure. All are .45 ACP. After the fourth firing, I had one Wolf case split....
