Preserving food using CO2

I see alot on how you should preserve foods in an oxygen free environment. I was wondering if using CO2 would work. My thoughts were to prepare a bucket (or container) of loose grains or dried beans, and then put some dry ice on top. Because CO2 is heavier than air, it would decend into the bucket a...

Re: Any of you guys ever do the car trench?

In the drawings, the car looks like about a '64 Lincoln. and I'm guessing thats about when these were written. Personnally, I'll take it as a 'pass'

Land for shooting?

I'm looking at a strip of land out past Winchester for use as an 'outdoor recreation area'. It's not very big, only three acres down the side of a hill. I want to use it for camping, a Boy Scout training area :offtopic: , and just a place to 'get away to' on weekends. I'd like to set up a small shoo...

Re: Homemade/DIY Leather Holsters

Did you want a 'show' holster or a 'go' holster? As I am on a limited budget, I have made a couple of simple leather belt holsters to simply carry a firearm. they are not pretty, but they are functional. Basically I lay the firearm on a piece of paper and trace a rough outline with about 1/2" c...

Re: Nations Gun Show Jul 27-29 2012 - Chantilly, VA

I went. Picked up some new plastic grips for a gun I got at the show LAST time (I think it was a good deal..) Was looking for mother-of-pearl, but didn't find any. I think I'll just take the plastic ones and try that Krylon Fusion paint. I'm thinking something like Fushia grips on a chromed .32 migh...

I went on Saturday

..with my son. We both were surprized at how light the turn-out seemed to be. we could move around, see the wares and not be bumping to people all the time. I picked up a nice pistol, :pistol: Private sale. (I am now no longer allowed to go to gun shows without adult supervision. My son doesn't coun...

The BEST thing about a kilt is when you are out in the woods and you gotta take a whiz...i mean INSTANT RELIEF! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> And I'd guess the WORST thing is when you are out in the woods and it's really cold, IT'S REALLY COLD! :hysterical: yeah, there IS that part...but it seems to...

Re: How did you feel when you first OC'd?

Usually I OC a 1911, but I am thinking of using my S&W M&P 15-22p. I think I can make a sling so it's on my back when I ride my motorcycle to and from the range. I find I get alot less tailgators on the bike when I OC.....

ok..gotta chime in..: I'm not overly religous..but when it comes to people getting death threats for drawing a CARTOON that Represents a Prophet, or that one MUST wear gloves whenhandling a 'sacred book' that was nothing but ink and paper a few days before....then I start to get a bit nervous. Re: Firearm Unfriendly Businesses in Virginia

Navy Federl Credit Union now has their facilities posted. Which is funny because their ad of 5 Military Members, 3 are armed, and therefore would NOT be allowed into their facilities. It's not the OC people I'd worry about, it's the thugs who wear hoodies and sunglasses when it's 90 degrees out. but...

Daddy LIKE!!!! :pistol: A beautiful functional tool for the .22 Magnum rounds. I even like the 'mechanical' look it has! Can't wait to see it at the Gun Show..It might beat out my lust for an AR! nope. it didn't. After not getting ANYTHING at the last 4 gun shows (waiting for the PMR-30) I weent ah...
