All other thing being equal, I don't see any reason not to get a 20 MOA base. It keeps your reticle more centered, where the glass in your optic is better, and it gives you more distance to dial for drops. There aren't any real downsides.

There are a lot of good options out there for red dots, but many depend on your budget. The cheapest option, but still a good one, is a Primary Arms micro red dot.
