Richmond Area Gunsmith Recommendations?
Anyone have a good smith to recommend out there? I am willing to drive out to Charlottesville if anyone has any experience with "Classic American Gunsmith"? The current objective is to get a Savage 11 receiver squared off to the threads (i am buying a new barrel for it).

Re: Youth Day
Just so you know it is Youth and Apprentice Day not just youth day. My wife (30) got her Apprentice License to go squirrel hunting with me this season and you had better believe that I am taking her for apprentice day deer hunting next year!

Thanks for that information. Maybe that's why he said to call back - maybe the hiring process is underway. Do you know if when open that range had shooting from benches as as well as field positions (such as prone?). Even though Colonial Shooting Academy in Richmond lets me shoot a 22 rifle I can't ...

Fort Lee personal weapons range closed
After moving here a few months ago, last night I virtually accidentally ran across the information that there was a shooting range open to civilians over at Fort Lee (a couple miles from my house). Man, was I so excited. I called a few mins ago to ask if I could shoot prone position there and make s...

I am saving for a Browning rifle. I am considering selling the rifled barrel for my shotgun (might get 100 dollars...

Hunter education for concealed permit
The website says a hunter education certificate of completion may be used for proof of competency. Mine is a New Jersey certificate and specifically states "Rifle" and "Shotgun" on it. Is this still valid documentation? I can't find my nra pistol class certificate. [ Post made vi...

Moving to VA in weeks...
Hello all, Just accepted a job in VA so I will be getting the heck out of NJ and coming to a free state! Hopefully in early June. I will be working near Emporia VA but for the first year or so at least (and probably longer term) we will be leaving in or very close to the Chesterfield county area. Th...
