Re: Virginia to end CCW reciprocity with 24 states
Mindflayer, Not sure where you go in PA but some counties will issue you a non resident ccw on the spot if you have any permit they recognize... Lackawanna, Erie, Centre and Lycoming. I went to Lackawanna county building with my NY permit and fifteen minutes later walked out with a PA permit. There ...

Re: Buy a AR out of state?
I was just curious what the laws were.
I found a couple ARs I was looking at, for quite a bit less in West Virginia.
I did find a couple places where the prices werent too bad, and I always want to support local business.
If I really cant find what I want locally, theres always gunbroker.

Re: Buy a AR out of state?
I meant can I buy a AR in person and just bring it home.
Say I'm in West Virginia, North Carolina or Pennsylvania and spot a AR I like. Can I buy it on the spot from a FLL and then transport it back home myself - or do I have to have the rifle sent to a FLL in Virginia and pick it up from there?

In the trunk or hatch where you dont have immediate access to it - unloaded, in a proper case that has some sort of lock on it.
I carry when I visit from NY and this is how I get my gun through NJ and MD.

Re: Hunting on family owned land
Last week, we visited the property we bought and I saw 3 deer and 2 huge turkeys flying out of the woods.
Talked briefly with our only neighbor who said they see turkey every morning walking across the opening of our land.
Cant wait to get down there.

Re: Garand or AR?
^ Scrub.
Ive actually changed my mind... again.
I was just given a Rem700 30-06 by my father in law. Hes getting up there in age and gave it to us. It kind of cures my itch for now, so going with the AR.
As soon as I get a Virginia address, Ill be getting a DD.

Re: Garand or AR?
Im thinking this over myself.
Im looking at the newer Springfield M1A models.
For the AR, Daniels Defense or RRA
I think Im gonna go with the M1A for now and look at getting a AR some time down the line.

Re: Garand or AR?
I have a Ruger Mini14,that I enjoy shooting alot.
A garand is my dreamgun. I'll be getting one as soon as Im out of Nazi NY. Seriously, the moment I get a address (we're building on undeveloped land) and license, Ill be picking up a garand.
About 6 - 8 months to go.

Re: Civil Unrest likely?
Anyone catch Lou Dobbs and Bill O'Reilly tonight? Bill asked the question of civil unrest due to the falling middle class and rising poverty. Lou Dobbs said that it's near certain. WOW... First time I've heard it on the factor instead of reading it on a gun forum... I was actually visiting Virginia...

I was going through the laws last night.
Also looking forward those those Floyd friday nights.
Trying to convince my brother to come down - he's amazing on the banjo, and they'll be no shortage of musicans down here for us.
