Re: Hypothetical situation
That's what I thought too. Yeah I had heard about Texas allowing it which is what made me wonder if VA was similar. That is really annoying though. Like dusterdude said, it is quite irritating to basically have to let the scum steal your stuff and you cant do a damn thing about it; except use words ...

Hypothetical situation
Hello everyone, So after scaring off two car burglars from stealing my brother's car (used the alarm) recently, it got me wondering.... If they had managed to get the car started and I were to come outside with a firearm and fired, is that legal defense of property or would that be an illegal shooti...

Re: .38 Cobra Derringer or Yugo M57?
No, I think the derringer is not a great gun for self defense. The 7.62 x 25 is deadly, but IF you have the option of ordering in (parents, friends, relatives..)....the 9mm would be better option. If I am advising, I would tell you to get the M57 in 7.62 x 25 and keep an eye open for replacement ba...

Re: New guy from Woodbridge
You're right. After getting my new job and having enough to afford one I got excited to see what was out there. I'll keep saving. I don't want to skimp on something that might save mine or someone else's life someday. Jeez, if only I could apply that same sort of mentality to my automotive purchases...

Re: New guy from Woodbridge
Well darnit. As in Ruger MKIII Stainless? Everyone says you can't go wrong with them. But holy o.O those babies are pricey! They also look weird, but I do respect that in terms of excellent .22 pistols the MKIII (whats the difference between that and the .22/45?) tops the list. So strange looking th...

Re: .38 Cobra Derringer or Yugo M57?
Yeah, after a little bit more reading on the 7.62 x 25 and the Tokarev....It appears it will not suit my needs. Apparently it's got a nasty habit of over penetration at close range. Plus the lack of a safety is a bit worrying... (Of course you could just leave the chamber empty but still.) If I were...

Re: .38 Cobra Derringer or Yugo M57?
They are quite cool little guns!
If I were allowed to carry I'd be all over the Derringer simply for the ease of concealment and low price, but, this will spend most of its time in the glove compartment during the day and be by the bedside at night so size/weight isn't so much of an issue (yet.)

Re: .38 Cobra Derringer or Yugo M57?
I have a 45LC/410 derringer. It is very cool. Should make a great snake gun when berry picking. BUT it is not a anti-personnel gun. Tokarev Zastava M70A Tokarev Type Semi-Auto Pistol, Cal. 9x19mm http://www.classicfirearms.com/hand-guns Although I know you can get 7.62x25 and it is cool from a hist...

.38 Cobra Derringer or Yugo M57?
Hello everyone, I've been shopping around for a decent car gun (glove compartment) since I can't carry yet =/. Came across a .38 Derringer that's nearly new for $150 and a Yugoslavian Takarev M57 in nice condition as well for $250. Found a .38 revolver too but, they are very far away from me. I was c...

Re: New guy from Woodbridge
:welcome: Beretta Bobcat for your popgun fetish. Don't shoot your eye out. :hysterical: Thanks for the recommendation, that is my personal favorite of the .22 pocket guns. Unfortunately, either no one is selling locally or the price was too steep for my taste (seriously $400 for a cheap litt...

Re: New guy from Woodbridge
Welcome from Lake Ridge! Pretty much neighbors... Have you discovered All Shooters Tactical yet? Great local gun shop near PW Pkwy and Smoketown. No I haven't. I didn't even know of one around here. hahaha I was lucky enough to find a decent Pawn Shop to buy my shotgun last year. I might go check t...

New guy from Woodbridge
Hello, I just moved from Dumfries to Woodbridge (what a change! haha). I'm 18 and I absolutely love cars, particularly older cars because theyre so much simpler to work on/modify. I'm the only person in my house that sees firearms as interesting and well...cool! Everyone else sees them evil things t...
