Re: Remington 700 v. Savage Axis (Both .308 win)
So I'm finally getting around to getting my long gun and was wondering what the real difference between a Remington 700 and a Savage Axis (Both would be chambered to .308 win) other then the price. I'm kinda drawn between the 2 at the moment so anything info you can spare on them would be great. Th...

Re: How open carry works
Cool thanks for all the info very helpful. I have my cwp from Florida but all I was worried about would be getting stopped for what ever reason and then have the cop go "oh I see your not from around these parts" and then come up with some vague gun law or city ordnance to screw me over wi...

Re: How open carry works
Pretty much, just strap on the pistol, and carry on. Make sure nothing covers it from common observation. Avoid schools and courthouses. Welcome to VA. Re: New from Florida
Oh, don't make the same mistake I made when I got here and said, "Virginia is not really South,...it is kind of middle Atlantic actually". My wife's relatives weren't sure I was going to be allowed in the house. I was also informed that there was no Civil War here. We call it "Our re...

Re: New from Florida
Thanks for all the information. I clearly have some things to get used to as far as "politeness" goes because traveling through Miami you tend to forget about that. I just have one more question for you guys. This is going to seem silly posting it on here but I'm a big paintballer (milsim)...

Re: New from Florida
Folks will say hello to you when you have not clue who they are. Not answeriing will get you glared at big time. Politeness counts. You start every phone conversation even with perfect strangers with "How are you? Hows the family? and you had better care about the answer. Then you conduct busi...

Re: New from Florida
Welcome to VGOF! :welcome:  My wife are big into weapons and when I stumbled on to this site looking up that picture of the "weapons permitted sign" at busch gardens (still haven't found out if its real or not)... I remember that picture. It was photoshopped. Well nowI'm all sad on ...

Re: New from Florida
Welcome! :welcome: One of the first things you will notice that is different in VA vs. FL is that open carry is legal, and common, in VA so after you establish residence and get your VA Concealed Handgun Permits you won't have to worry about "printing" or "flashing" your carry g...
