Re: How to fight the latest push for gun control

Upon further reflection... Ok, this is off the top of my head; I don't have time to fact check myself, so I could easily be off base. -I'm fairly certain that I ran across some language in The US Constitution, that prohibits States from splitting. -Virginia had already legally seceded from The Unio...

Re: Colt Re-Introduces Python For 2020

The article is in agreement with my opinion of Colt's newer 1911s. Overpriced and unimpressive.

Re: I wonder how many new guys actually...

Nah. No one here really has any weaponry, anyway. This is a place where we all gather to wistfully recall the firearms that we once had, long lost during fishing expeditions, or confiscated in the process of alien abductions, or whatever. We also like to look at current offerings of firearms, that ...

JUST GOT THIS E-MAIL ABOUT ANTI-GUN HEARINGS ON JAN. 2!

State Legislature to Hold Budget Hearing on Gun Confiscation This Thursday, January 2! Please make plans to attend one of the four meetings across the state (see below). Re: 1/20/20 Lobby Day

I'm going to be in Richmond on that day anyway. I understand there are at least 4 or 5 buses coming up from Wise and Lee Counties (that's at the very pointy western end, folks).

Re: Board is operational again - Sorry for the difficulty!

Great news! I've been trying for a couple of days to touch base here, and it was like being a ghost: I could sign on and type posts, but they wouldn't come up on the board. Since I was fairly certain I wasn't dead, I was beginning to wonder if I'd been excommunicated. Nice to know the answer to that...

extreme risk protection orders

I'm thinking I'll send this to all my legislators. But they are all solidly in opposition to Gov. Northam's anti-gun proposals anyway. ……………………….……………………………………………………………….. The proposal for “extreme risk protection orders” is, in my opinion, one of the more repugnant of an extremely repugnant group o...

Re: Latest Pistol

I've said it since I got mine. Best 1911 for the money. I like it as much as any I ever shot - or looked at.

Bump stock ban deadline is tomorrow.

As of tomorrow, possession can mean fines and up to 10 years in jail. Turns my stomach, but I just took mine off my M&P15 and cut it into little pieces with a band saw.

Re: Howdy, folks....it's been a while since I've visited......

I'm hanging in there like a hair in a biscuit.

Worried about the direction our Commonwealth is being taken by all these YAHOOS (y'all remember that acronym, don't you?) the feds have infested Northern Virginia with.

Re: Meanwhile, in KY

Kentucky is doing something that Virginia should be doing: https://www.wate.com/news/kentucky/kentucky-lawmakers-approve-nrabacked-concealed-carry-bill/1820646265 Kentucky has long reminded me of what Virginia is SUPPOSED to be like. The State is filled with people who remind me of actual Virginian...

proposal for a 1,000 yard range in Southwest Va

I ran across this old post on Spearhead Trails Facebook page. It may be an old post, but maybe members here would comment or otherwise communicate to indicate there is (if there is; and I can't imagine there is not) wide support for such a thing and a much broader community that would use such a ran...

Companies ending their business relationships with the NRA.

I’ve been thinking about these companies ending their business relationships with the NRA. I'm perfectly willing to boycott them. I’m closing out one credit card for just that reason. But in some cases it will be easier said than done. For example, both Delta and United airlines are on that list. Gu...

You guys in VA Cong. Dist. 2 need to call her hand on this.

Been watching Karen Mallard's posts on this. She just put a video on Facebook where she cut the barrel off her husband's AR15 because she said she couldn't stand the thought of its continued existence. Seems to me that in so doing she committed a felony by shortening the barrel and creating an unlic...
