Well, I finally got my favorite Colt Commander back.I had sent it to Reeder Custom Guns in Flagstaff, AZ for a 1* (one asterisk) build. They put a clear plastic grip on the weak side so you can see rounds remaining, bobtail it, and do a trigger job and "reliability package" on it they allege is THE MOST reliable 1911 on the planet.
Got it back today. Porn attached. Also got my "Judge and Jury" set from them a week or 10 days ago. I won't worry about taking pictures of them, they look just like the ones on the link: http://www.reedercustomguns.com/1911/judge_jury.htm Haven't got around to firing any of the three yet. I know I won't be disappointed.

Re: Well, I finally got my favorite Colt Commander back.Nice. You mean YOUR BUDDY got THEIR guns back.
Love the clear grip concept. My magazine indicator would just say 'NOT ENOUGH". ![]()

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ah, hell...... I might as well brag on 'em a little. I'll no doubt lose them in a tragic boating accident before long. Always do. Maybe I ought to armor the bottom of that damn boat. "The Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference."

Re: Well, I finally got my favorite Colt Commander back. What, no "Executioner" 1911?

Re: Well, I finally got my favorite Colt Commander back.I have, or had.... a really nice Combat Commander, all steel, compact model, satin finish, Pachmayrs... upgrade springs... nite sites... which I "HID" in my house somewhere... (as some of us do from time to time... I figure most of us have guns stuck everywhere for access and such)... anyway... I cannot find it... I have looked high and low... I once lost a Delta Elite new in the case, which I hid also... and one day my dog "Lucy" was lying beside my bed and got to looking under a dresser... and I got down to see what it was and it was the Delta under the dresser??? I am hoping I have put the Commander somewhere, but alas... I am at a loss... very distressing....
I used to have a nice safe, but sold it for some unknown reason... now I have my guns in a "wall safe"... but still have a few around the house..... probably should get another safe..... mmmmmmmmmm. I have accused my children of taking it.... they just shake their heads and walk away........ Has this ever happened to anyone or am I the only scatter brained old man out here..... my lovely wife says I would "lose my.... 'that's right'.... if it wasn't attached" .... and I suppose she is correct......Bill Marx, Sr.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Well, it might be that I occasionally find a goodie I temporarily forgot I had; and sometimes I have to call #1 son and ask him who's got a gun or where we are keeping it. Heck, if THAT don't happen to a feller occasionally, it's a sure sign he ain't got enough goodies. Far as what your better half warns you against losing, if there's any substance to that allegation, I'd suggest you check that large screw in your bellybutton occasionally to make sure it is still screwed on good and tight. ![]() "The Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference."

Re: Well, I finally got my favorite Colt Commander back.
Sure, why not. Apparently, though, I'm thinking more clearly today. It just occurred to me that whoever is holding "Judge" in one hand, and "Jury" in the other, must BE the executioner. Re: Well, I finally got my favorite Colt Commander back. That line of thinking is EXACTLY why those will be strictly range guns.

Re: Well, I finally got my favorite Colt Commander back.Great looking gun, and from my previous experience dealing with Gary before Case was building guns he never let anything that was not top of the line out the door. When he was in Sarasota, Fl. I did quite a bit of business with him. Always fair, and as I already said top notch. Gary built the most accurate Contender 10MM barrel I have ever owned, and this was before Thompson Center offered one in 10MM.
Enjoy your favorite again, and it looks great. Casey
