GAO Report on States’ Concealed Handgun Permit Requirements

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) was tasked by Congress (specifically, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA)) to generate a report on the Concealed Handgun Permit processes and reciprocity agreements between the states.  The GAO report is titled “GUN CONTROL” be the supposedly non-partisan GAO.

Senator Feinstein published a press release with a lead in that says “New GAO report demonstrates reciprocity gun legislation would endanger lives of citizens, law enforcement”

I’m not entirely certain how Senator Feinstein came to the conclusion that national reciprocity would “Endanger lives of citizens and law enforcement”, since the report says absolutely nothing about crime, murder, death or any other statistic which would back up her claim.  This seems to be just another outright LIE being perpetrated by the Democratic Party.  The only places that the word “endanger” is used in the report is in reference to the discretion given to the court in some buy cialis states that will allow them to deny a permit application based on the belief that the applicant may “use a weapon unlawfully or negligently to endanger others, based on a preponderance of the evidence”.  There is not a single statement in the report which indicates that law enforcement or civilians would be endangered by national reciprocity.

Don’t get me wrong – I’m not a big proponent of national reciprocity, as it is my belief that getting the federal government involved in more regulation of our gun rights is likely a bad idea.  Either way, I think that Ms. Feinstein’s propaganda in relation to the GAO report is an outright falsehood, and I wish the tree-huggers in California would get their heads out of their back-sides and elect someone with an agenda that loves America instead of an agenda hell-bent on destroying her!
