What do I need to do to get an M1 carbine shipped to VAFrom CT. FFL to FFL with background check? Here is a link: http://sigforum.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s= ... 4470043852 Is it a semi-automatic, not an assault rifle is it?

Anything black and scary looking like that is an assault rifle. ![]()
Re: What do I need to do to get an M1 carbine shipped to VAYou need to make arrangements with an FFL in CT, and an FFL in VA. You will pay the CT FFL to ship it and the VA FFL for the transfer fee and background check.
It's just that simple. Happens everyday in this great country of ours. http://fflgundealers.net/ “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” — Edmund Burke
Re: What do I need to do to get an M1 carbine shipped to VAThanks gents, I was hoping it would not be all that difficult... BTW, does this seem like a good deal? Be honest! It does to me, I've always wanted an M1, not necessarily a "vintage" one, and this comes with plenty of accessories.
Re: What do I need to do to get an M1 carbine shipped to VAUnless CT has some weird rule about having to use a FFL to send a rifle out of state, he could just mail it directly to your dealer (if your dealer accepts firearms from non-licensees, some don't).
The only thing I'd be aware of is that if the thirty round magazines arrive with the rifle, the dealer would have to treat it as an assault firearm transfer under VA law, so you'd have to have proof of citizenship. Much easier to have all the accessories shipped directly to you. The price is okay, personally I wouldn't pay anywhere near that much for one of the AO repros, and I'm not a fan of the stock, but if it floats your boat, it's not a ripoff. The seller doesn't specify whether the mags are USGI or aftermarket, may want to check on that.
Re: What do I need to do to get an M1 carbine shipped to VAThanks Diomed. I'm tempted to hold off and wait for the Nations Gun Show in Chantilly (close to me) in 2 weeks. But the price is SHIPPED, so I just pay 30-$40 for the FFL transfer fee. I tend to think the total pricing would be similar for the rifle but not with all the accessories. I'm not sure my local gun range will deal with a private seller, but as I live in NOVA, I presume it won't be all that difficult to find one that will. As for the accessories, yes, the seller indicated sending them to be directly would be the way to go.
As much as I like the look of authentic (historic and/or rebuild) wood stock M1 carbines, I like the pistol grip and synthetic stock and all the accessories for the price.
