weight of ammo, mags.a steel 30 rd AK mag weighs 3/4 lb. A steel 20 rd 308 mag weighs 7 ozs. An aluminum M16-AR mag weighs 1/4 lb. A steel 1911 mag weighs 2 ozs. 30-06 or 168 gr match 308 is 16 rds to the lb. 150 gr 308 is 18 rds to the lb. .30 AK or 230 gr .45 ammo are 22 rds to the lb. 9mm or 223 or .20 AK ammo is 40 rds to the lb. 12 ga shells are 10 to the lb. .22lr rds are 135 to the lb. you aint carrying more than about 50 shotshells, how many each will be birdshot, slugs, and buckshot, hmm?
Re: weight of ammo, mags.So you plan to shoot almost all your ammo, then move to next ammo cache, reload, shoot again while moving to next one? Sounds like a video game.
