Basic Wilderness Survival and Outdoor Living Skills Weekend

WHEN: October 22-24, 2010
Where: Holiday Lake 4-H Education Center near Appomattox, VA

Do you want to know the basics of wildland survival, or increase your knowledge and advance your outdoor skills? Are you just looking for a fun get away to challenge yourself and put your skills to the test? The Holiday Lake 4-H Education Center near Appomattox is hosting a Basic Wilderness Survival and Outdoor Living Skills Weekend October 22-24. The program includes professional and expert instruction with participation limited for a better instructor: participant ratio. Optional classes include: Land Navigation, Building Temporary Shelters, Locating and Collecting Water, Improving "Situational Awareness" Skills, Primitive Tools and Cordage, and Sleep Overnight in Temporary Shelters. Learn knowledge and skills to last a lifetime!

Cost of workshop is $175 and covers all programming and instructor fees, meals, and lodging. Register by October 8th.

Early registration is encouraged as courses fill quickly.

On September 25th we officially celebrate and observe National Hunting & Fishing Day. I took a similar course years and years ago (I think in the 1998/99 timeframe - not sure anymore, time goes by so fast now) - seems as if the founder has since moved out of the area, but it looks like his new info is here:

Yes but Uncle taught me a couple things that you wont learn in any civilian classroom (at least not legally... :whistle: )
