I figure I cannot be the only one suffering with this issue.
I picked up a Remington 870 express, and ATTEMPTED to remove the stock, "tight screw" ain't even the word for it.
"GLUED" sounds about right...
Any suggestions on loosening the bolt holding the stock to the receiver? I've got CLP-Breakfree in it currently, but after 24 hours? Ain't budging.

You'll need to securely clamp the gun in a vise, and then use as large of a screwdriver as you can with a pair of vise-grips attached for leverage. If the screwdriver has a nut for a wrench, then you can use that instead.

I had the same problem with my new Mossberg 500. I tried everything. Eventually I just sawed it off so I could get easier access to the bolt. Probably not the best idea, but I replaced it with a collapsable stock so I didn't really care. It was a polymer stock, not wooden.

You might try fitting the screwdriver and then lightly tapping it a few times with a small hammer to work the penetrating oil in.

Oh yeah, Did that one about three times. I think the "vise" idea, and a torque wrench with a flathead screwdriver may be my only recourse.  I'm looking at putting synthetics on later... I have just break down, get them NOW, and just change it over... Amazon has Forend, and Stock for $60.86 w/ free shipping.

It's the second one I bought, number 5 for the household. I LOVE REMINGTON 870'S! Easy to work on, easy to adjust, flexible in changing loads for different game, handles more like an instrument than a tool, it's the ORIGINAL "Lego gun"! I picked up this 870 Express combo (Rifle Bbl, and 28" bbl) at an auction for $365. In my opinion? A BAH-GIN! Since we have so many bbls, and such? I'm taking the 28" bbl to TTI, and have them cut it to 18.5". It's the only bbl length I don't own.

Just a dumb thought, but have you tried using a cordless impact driver on it? I don't think you will find too many people with access to the old impact tools that mechanics usually have, that you twist in the direction you want to move and strike with a hammer, the impact forces the bit deep into the slot and the cam action inside the tool turns it in the direction you want.
Either way, good luck with your project. Of course it is in the last place you looked, your not going to keep looking for something after you've found it.

That's actually a good thought, and I got some folks who rebuild 4x4's with access to quite a selection of tools. I will give that a try.

GOT IT!
I had to strip the 870 down to the basic form, and spray WD-40 in from the BACK end... Left it for an hour, VIOLA! Loosened. I think the washer they put in the stock disperses the fluid SIDEWAYS, not INTO the bolt area... One thing I do know? An 870 is about an easy gun to strip...

Your AK probably wasnt left in the elements for a few decades, never being stripped. HAHAHAHA

Sweet, I'm hoping to get one in May. You ever try an action jobs on it? Like polishing the action bars, bolt, chamber and hammer? You don't really want a polished chamber though, it has a tendency to "stick" the empties.
As to polishing? Agree with Bill. You shoot it enough? It just gets better, and better. EVENTUALLY, I will have to take picks of my purchase, I was going for the "before, and after" but I find that when you do that? You end up with "work". "HEY CAN YOU DO THAT TO MINE!?" HAHAHAH
