Re: AR-15 platform 12 Gauge ShotgunIt's an AR-15 in looks only. It's pretty much a dressed up semi auto shotgun.

Re: AR-15 platform 12 Gauge Shotgun
But with a detachable box mag. That's a big selling point - and makes it a viable competitior to the Saiga. Especially for people used to ARs. Personally I think they're ugly and kind of dinky (bedazzled selector markings? Seriously?), but they're getting positive attention from some folks who know what they're talking about.
Re: AR-15 platform 12 Gauge Shotgun
You are absolutely correct about the detachable magazine, I did forget that part. I was merely talking about its internals, from what I've seen of them in person, they're only cosmetically and somewhat ergonomically similar to the AR platform. Re: AR-15 platform 12 Gauge ShotgunI would agree with the statement that it is only cosmetically similar to an AR-15. It looks more like a modified benalli. I think the jury will be out on this thing for a while, I still prefer the saiga platform.

Re: AR-15 platform 12 Gauge ShotgunI'm curious whether the AR (Stoner) type system could accommodate shotshells.
Re: AR-15 platform 12 Gauge Shotgun
That would be a cool thing to see. I wonder if anyone's ever really attempted to do that. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance... wait... when did that happen?

Re: AR-15 platform 12 Gauge Shotgun
The SPAS-15 is not a DD. Perhaps you're thinking of the USAS-12?
Re: AR-15 platform 12 Gauge ShotgunThe SPAS-15 and USAS-12 are both piston operated guns, and that .410 upper is kinda cool, but I'd really like to see if anyone has made a DI-based, AR-style 12GA shotgun.
