Scott and Nic at VQ agreed that something's not right and are sending me a new bushing and sear, without hesitation. They seem to think that this is a 10/22 bushing that got labeled as a MkII somehow.

Hopefully the next ones work better!

This is not the first complaint I've heard about VQ's quality. I suspect their QC has taken a hit in the last five years or so.

+1 to Nic at Volquartsen. I emailed him with my issues Sunday night, and he had a new sear and hammer in the mail on Monday. I received them today and everything dropped right in and is working beautifully. After tinkering with the trigger adjustments, I have about 1/16" take up, and damn near zero over travel. Trigger breaks clean and resets every time (at least through one quick 10-round mag, 3 slow shots, 7 more as fast as I could pull the trigger). Need the rain to stop so I can hit the range.... uhgm, backyard!

Still upset that VQ sent me bad parts to begin with, and it took over a week to get those to begin with. The great service is a start to making up for that...

Glad to hear they shorted it out for you. Did it remove the trigger disconnect to your liking? Any quirks from doing so?

Edit: I assume this is the exact kit you used? MkII. https://www.volquartsen.com/products/28 ... -mkiimkiii

Using the MkII hammer, and hammer bushing, lets you remove the magazine disconnect safety and it's spring, with no further modification. I don't know if you can simply use the MkII bushing with the MkIII hammer - but from what I've read you can order a Clark #517 bushing kit and use that with the MkIII hammer.

I added a Volquartsen Mark II hammer bushing to my Mark III today and it worked fine. The whole process took about 15 minutes, and The trigger feels a little better, and the magazines drop cleanly when you press the release. Shot 160 rounds cleanly without malfunction - before this modification I had a malfunction every 40 rounds or so. This is the best $5.99 you can spend on your Mark III IMHO.
