Hey guys,
What would be a good 17hmr rifle to get and how much should one pay for ammo?

Re: .17HMRSemi ammo, bolt action, lever action, what action type? I know you can buy 17 HMR barrels and parts for 10/22.

Re: .17HMR
lets go with either a semi auto or bolt action! and i did not know that you could get aftermarket .17hmr barrles for the 10/22.
Re: .17HMR
Others will correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly sure that the .17HMR conversion is only for 10/22 Magnum rifles. Maybe you're thinking of .17 HM2? Beav, .17 HMR means more expensive ammo. Are you willing to spend the money?
Re: .17HMR
I thought that they would be more expensive...
Re: .17HMR
Yep turns out your right after a little more searching. Apparently I got .17HM2 and .17HMR confused. 17HM2 can be swapped into a normal 10/22 with a heavier charging handle added but .17HMR can only be swapped in 10/22 Mag only. I wouldn't be shocked to find out all of these kits have feed issues so it may be best to stick to a gun made of .17HMR. “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”

Re: .17HMR
Which means bolt action, and maybe lever action - semiautos and .17 HMR (and .22WMR) don't seem to get along very well.
Re: .17HMRI have a marlin bolt action stainless .17hmr that will group under a dime at 100yds, and a cz 453 that will do the same. The cz has a fully adjustable single set trigger that is a joy, but the marlin trigger isnt bad at all. The cz is smooth and purdy and the marlin is a little rough on the inside. All .17hmr ammo is about $15 and no matter what brand its made by cci.
Re: .17HMRI really like the Savage Mark II rifles with the accu trigger. They have a few different variations in .17hmr if you want a bolt action.
