I just saw that yesterday and really just don't know what to think, aside from that's just a little bit too far, imho.

Ugh is right. Lever actions are to be blued steel, brass, and wood. That is all.

I'm thinking I wouldn't be as disgusted if it were a pump.

and the scary part -
Before investing in the tooling and development, they probably conducted some market research that indicated a market existed for this type of product. Scary because if a market exists... then people want this...
Either that, or they stole the idea from Red Jacket.

Call of Duty players have a hard on for the model 1887 lever action shotgun. Thats why this exists.

Put it in a practical caliber (.357 would do nicely) and put a real stock on it, and this has some potential. Someone finally offers a levergun with a threaded barrel and it's in .30-30? Fail.

It IMHO looks cool but it looks like something out of Hollywood. It will probably wind up in every post apocalyptic/shtf movie for the next ten years. That is if Mossberg wants to sell any. :tinfoil:

I was wondering what they were going to do to top the "chainsaw" foregrip for shotguns.
Now I know.

At one point I have said i'd take any gun. Having seen this though and partially blowing chunks in my throat I have to amend," this nor hipoint will ever be owned by me or my family and friends. Friends don't let friends own ugly guns." This "thing" looks like it ran dead last in a one horse race. Just my h.o.

I heard about a guy who fired a Hi Point, which blew up. The shrapnel killed his
whole family, the bullet ricocheted and killed his dog, and then sparks from the
ricochet burned his house down, and then the shell casing landed on a voting machine
and registered a vote for the political party he disagreed with. Yep, true story.

Folks start thinking about middle American police departments that do not have the funds to equip and train in modern carbines but have a real need for high powered follow up shots in dangerous situations. There are plenty of departments out there who cannot and will not purchase AR carbines. This platform allows the user, who most definitely is in the middle of nowhere and has a background in hunting, familiarization with an old stand by. I am not an LE but I belong to another forum where plenty of folks are and they appreciate the weapon for what it is, a comfortable medium for effective standoff in lack of adequate training and budget. I personally will not own one but I can certainly see someones point in who would want to purchase one. Now after all this typing I can definitely say, wholly, without a doubt, this was NOT marketed to the LE community. Not something I'd own, maybe in the Texas Ranger's armory.
Look unimportant, the enemy might be low on ammo.
