New toy, looking for 308 ammo

Postby Paliden » Thu, 22 Oct 2009 14:54:36

Papa got a new toy, looking for reasonable priced 308 ammo in the Richmond. I'll be at the new Doswell show end of the month. What is the going price of 308 right now?.
ps the AR has a big brother now

"Cheapest "I saw at the Richmond show last weekend, was Brown Bear 145 gr. FMJ for 10.00-12.00 depending on the seller. 20 rounds per pack.

ammoman.com http://ammoman.com/webstore_308.htm
$239/500 150gr wolf works out to $9.xx/20

also check http://www.ammoengine.com/ shows you prices from a bunch of vendors.

If you want brass cased reloadable, it will be a bit more than the $10/box steel case.

John I have have about 15 or so tracer rounds if you want them. You can kill a deer and cook it at the same time. :hysterical:

Why block it ? There is not a limit on the number of rounds your rifle can hold. The shell limit is only for shotguns used for waterfowl and doves. That is a nice looking rig.

There used to be a 3 shot limit on shotguns but that was changed last year . As far as rifles go I have never heard of or read in the game laws there ever was a round limit.

Hey John,
Next time we hook up I will give you a couple of my Piggy Back .308 rounds. They were an experiment in Nam back in my day and I brought some home. They were used mostley on gunships to see what they would do. It is 2 - 308 slugs loaded on top of each other. I tried them at 500 yards with my M1A1 National Match and the dispersion was so wide that I could not keep them on paper. Maybe they would be good for "HERD SHOOTING" at close range.
