CZ 452 Military Trainer

Postby ratherfish » Sat, 11 Feb 2012 18:16:05

Put one on lay away last weekend after reading the various forum write-ups. Anyone have any personal experience with this .22?

Your comments would be appreciated.

RinfireCentral.com is crazy about the CZ 452. I will get one the moment I can. Pretty much everyone says you'll have something perfect right out of the box. Congrats!

I've owned one for several years.
The CZ 452 Trainer is a CZ 452 LUX except with a birch wood stock instead of a walnut stock.
I fire lapped the barrel, installed a trigger kit to get the trigger pull down to less than 1.5 lbs, pillar bedded the action, have the barrel fully floating and replace the rear iron sight blade with a ghost ring.
I had an 8 power Weaver scope on it when I qualified NRA Distinguished Expert with it.
I then went to a 6-24 X 42 zoom scope when I started shooting 50yd benchrest. I haven't tried it out yet, but last fall I replaced that scope with a 10-42 X 50 zoom scope.
OBTW - Both these scopes are Barskas.

Thanks for the feedback!

Can't wait to get it out of hock.

It will be a great shooter right out of the box. The trigger on a 452 can be improved but it is no way a bad trigger. Shoot it as it is, you will enjoy it.

I have to say this is the most accurate 22 I've ever shot. 50 yds. 25 Rds. all in the 2" bullseye but for one flyer, with iron sights and bad eyes no less!

I'm getting some quality glass for this baby!

Neighbor has one and he loves it. Seemed pretty smooth to me but I didn't get to shoot it.

Thus, why I just bought one. I've shot various 452s and always was impress with them. Very good rifle and with a few tweaks an excellent one.

I forgot to update you all. I have one. It's stock right now bit I bought the spring kit and will adjust the take with a shim and the trigger weight with a spring. Any recommendation as to which ones? Love it stock. Might do the bedding and free floating and all that. Has anyone tried the drop in triggers that are out there for the 452?

Trust, but verify.. we need pictures of the rifle and a used target. (more gun porn to raise spirit and morale)
