Virginia Gun Owners Forum - VGOF

Due to the high demand for guns and ammunition this Summer, Southeastern Guns and Knives (SGK) has started up a couple of new shows across Virginia. Here is the announcement for the new show in Richmond at the end of October.


Brand new show in Richmond Virginia at the home of the State Fair: Meadow Event Park.

This new facility is over 70,000 square feet and has unlimited parking. We look forward to many
years of great shows at this exciting new venue. Our first show date is: Oct 31 - Nov 1.

Hello. I am new to this forum, and this is my first post.

I will be volunteering at the gun show Sunday morning at the VCDL table. Come by and say hello!

Just got back from the show. Really nice venue ( brand new). Plenty of room between the tables. Most of the usual vendors were there. Jerry, Gold & Zim, and my favs Dark Sun (with the normal attitude) . Picked up a LCP with CT laser. The BATF had a table there. Never saw them at a show before (or I never noticed them).

Ammo selection was not that good...no .380 for the new one

All in all a nice show. The venue has plenty of room for expansion. Hopefully it will get bigger.

Only minor complaint...too many "non gun" tables.

What was the BATFE peddling?

I was at the show just about all day. Half shopping and half at the VCDL Table. Some good buys there, but VERY THIN CROWD! The word is not out. This afternoon at the table was more talk amoung us and more shopping. Very few people there in the afternoon. The place is the nicest of all three shows in Richmond by far.
Oh I got a killer deal on a soft side case for my LR308T and it was stamped USMC with the crest. Did I walk away with it? Ooooooh Yeaaaah

A LOT of law enforcement at the show as well. A distributor I use was ticketed for having improper items(throwing knives or stars) a felon was arrested (he cleared the background check) and snuck out the side door, they got him in the lot. I have lower parts kits priced at $60....Mention VGOF and I'll knock $5 off as a noobie VGOF business dicount. I have the green cloths near bow knives( almost straight in from the entrance)with AR parts and uppers, blackhawk cases. no sign yet

How does a felon pass a background check? What made them realize that he was a felon after passing the background check? I guess maybe the State Police passed him, then took a second look and called back to the show and told them to "Grab that guy that we just passed!"

The details are more clear now. He marked a YES box on the form. the check approved him, but the police picked him up to find out why he admitted to a felony. The confusion came when he did clear the check(since they are monitoring these sales). He mistakenly marked the wrong box

Just got back from the show - good time there, saw some old friends - even took care of my new VCDL membership!
