**To Our Richmond Gun Show Patrons**
As most of your are aware, there has been an unusually high amount of ATF and other Law Enforcement activity at our Showplace Show since May of 2004. What started as enforcement of illegal clauses in residential rental agreements, had progressed to nothing short of harassment of law-abiding citizens.
After 3 trips to Washington, DC, hundreds of hours of work and thousands of dollars in attorney fees, we are in possession of a letter from Acting Special Agent in charge (Washington Division), Jim Cavenaugh, that states in part that, "ATF Washington field Division, will not routinely be present at the Richmond Gun Shows." Although this is a small victory, ATF has requested that we not post this letter on our website. Our Attorney worked with the ATF for "suitable" wording for this website, however I will not post that either.
C&E Gun Shows has always worked very hard to provide safe and ethical shows for our patrons and will continue to do so. The type of harassing activities engaged in by ATF, VSP and others will not be tolerated. If you feel your rights were violated by these agencies at any of our shows, or the show at the Richmond International Raceway on August 13 or 14, 2005, please send an email to gunshowsfightback@yahoo.com.
Thanks for your continued support. Hope to see you at the shows.
Robert Steven Elliott, President C&E Gun Shows
