I just called and was told that the pow range is open this Sunday from 10 till 4. Think maybe I'll try out my NEW XD Sub compact. Hard to believe that I have had it for over two months and don't even know if it will fire

Many people have been asking about the Wed. hours, that was last year for the summer time only. We are unable to get the evening hours this year due to new military training in the area. Hopefully we will be able to get the 5-8pm hours back next year.
Thanks to this forum and others we now generate ALOT of customers, on average 40 to as much as 100 in one day, our busiest times are at first opening and then again around 1pm.
The POW is only open from 10-4 pm with a registration cut off at 3pm (this is so everyone gets their full hour worth of shooting) The range fee is $5 per hour, per person, even if you are sharing weapons and/or shooting stations.
Also we have now opened 5 shooting lanes for small-bore rifles, .17 centerfire upto .223 (5.56), anything higher will have to wait until the new rifle range is finished, when that will be.... dont know?!? If you have any other questions feel free to give us a call at the Fort Lee Outdoor Rec. office (804)765-2212

Tried out the Skeet and trap range the other day! Had a blast there are photos and a detailed review in the range review section. I would be happen to meet any other VGOF members there. Next month this month is packed.

Bringing this to the top. Not many people have been visiting this range and they are now only open 1 day, Sunday.

It would be nice if it was also open Saturday. That could happen if more people visited the range.

It's a nice place to shoot and I drive from the North suburbs of Richmond to there. I bring my wife as there's a nearby shopping mall where she can be happy (and I can blast away and I'm happy). Happy family!

The only way to keep these ranges open is to visit them. One day it may be too late.......
