What range did you visit, what did you shoot, how were you treated, etc. Tell us about your day at the range.

I often shoot at Domonion Shooting Range and thought I would give others some info on it. The range itself is an indoor range with 19 lanes out to 25 yards. The firing line could be a little better lit but look at it this way, it is great for self defense training. They allow any pistol up to .44 plus carbines, shotguns, and .22 rifles. Speaking of carbines they have plenty for rent, many in full auto ! They also have a nice assortment of handguns. They charge $8($5 for LE) and shooter's under 18 are free. Your cannot bring your own ammo. Their price on ammo is pretty fair considering they have to make a profit. Every time I go the staff is always very nice and helpful. They really seem like a good guys(and gals). They do allow rapid fire, thank goodness, and the range rules are posted under a link on the home page of their site. Also, when you are done shooting try to sweep some brass forward of the firing line. It helps keep the range looking nicer. One last thing it is tucked behind to car lots and Southern Police Supply. The turn is there but it is easy to miss on your first time. Click here to see their website. They have ladies day, LEO day, ect ,ect. Here are some pictures. Here is the lobby(is that the right term?) on your left as you enter. It has the guns for sale as well as Class 3 sales. On hot days there is some complimentary water. And on the right is thd counter were you go for ammo and range fee and what not. Sorry for this picture is was kinda last minute thru a window, here is the firing line. Thanks for reading! I would recommend this range to anyone in the area. If you have anything you wish to add, feel free!

I cannot bring my own ammo for shooting my own guns, or for range rentals?
Never initiate force against another. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.KYFHO

Yeah, wouldn't want to shoot through the backstop.

Seems to me they just dont appreciate that some of us may be reloading to save the bucks to buy guns. So I would assume they would not like you taking the shot brass with you, even if you already paid them to buy ammo from them? The two ranges I've been to - NRA in NoVa and Smoking Gun (Hopewell/Petersburg) - dont mind you picking the brass or usin your own ammo (last time I've been there)

Keep in mind that the range fees are higher, at least for the NRA range, I don't l know about the Smoking gun. The ammo sales help offset those cost.

That is something that I do while there, and I teach all of my students to do the same when I do shooting lessons. I'm amazed at how many people just walk away and leave a mess for someone else to clean up.....but I guess I shouldn't be surprised about that.
Hmmm. I usually sweep it towards the back of the firing line and then police it...If we shoot together please do the same and I'll just throw yours in my bag too...
I just do as the range folks have instructed me to. If I can avoid lead dust on my hands, all the better.

I don't know if they care if you police it. But they do sell once fired brass.
