It's like a cancer patient who has 6 months to live and treatment X might forestall that an additional month, but they are still going to die unless radical action is taken now. Ron Paul is the only candidate who has the experience and record IMHO which is capable of that action. 4 or 8 years of Obama-lite doesn't make much difference.

Oh God, its the Apocalypse, we agree on something. I do agree this country is screwed, and Ron Paul does appear to be the only man on the field who sincerely cares.

While I dont agree with him on much beyond being socially libertarian, from what I've learned he is apparently true in his convictions and may be what we need, whether I agree with him 100% or not.

Thing is he's definitely real "change", thats for sure. I'd vote for him if VA primary laws allow it (not sure how they work here, in NY you can only vote in the primary of the party you registered with, but no one asked me for a party when I registered here).
So rattle my bones all over the stones, I'm only a beggar-man whom nobody owns. Oh, see how words as old as sin, fit me like a glove.

I'm here and here I'll stay.

Virginia has open primaries. No one asked you for a party because we don't register by party here.

Yes and no. Usually the events which doom a civilization go by nearly unnoticed at the time. They were significant events and should not have been ignored as that was the time to fix things. By the time most people realize what is happening, it's usually too late. Hopefully we are not past the point of return.

In any case we need to reform or else we're going to get there...an actual date is much harder to predict. A meltdown could happen tomorrow or it might take a few decades, but you can be certain there will be lots of pundits lamenting how "no one" saw this coming.

That's were most people are with him. I probably agree with him more than you, but his supports come from a diverse background. I think it works because they realize his record means they are more likely to get a known.

You can vote for him as VA is an open primary...can only vote in one of course, but at the poll you can decide which you want.

Ya... Paul followers have been accused by Mike Huckabee as being "a mix of gun show and Grateful Dead". Get yur tie-dye camo.

Really? I've never heard him take the evangelical perspective and push his brand of morality on people. I've only ever heard him mention the bible maybe once or twice and that was because his audience was in that direction to begin with. He likes to quote the Book of Samuel in those situations. He is a Christian, but what denomination is a matter of dispute. Supposedly he was baptized in a Presbyterian church, married in an Episcopalian Church and attends a Baptist church. I don't think he really cares. I think he is just Christian.

Well after watching the debate last night I have got to say that Ron Paul did himself proud, and I thought he answered the loaded questions very well. They reall tried to make him out a crackpot but he sure turned it back on them with that "Silver Dime" as the Mods did not even know what he was talking about and he had to explain that the silver dime is woth $3.40. I even think that even went over the Mods. head as well

"In fact, the gun control act was put into place after the assassinations of JFK, Martin Luther King, and Robert Kennedy."

Oh? You mean a knee-jerk reaction to a catastrophic event? Yeah, Politicians have a BAD habit of doing that!

(AHEM) U.S. PATRIOT ACT.

And Ron Paul wants to repeal parts of that as well...

I use the act DAILY in my job... but it doesn't mean I agree with it. A man who trades liberty for safety, deserves neither-(paraphrasing) Benny Franklin.

Really Carl!

I don't suppose you would tell me what it is that you do??? I mean... if you were a freedom loving gun nut that happened to work for the BATF or some other federal bureaucracy, I would love to hear your perspective, thoughts and stories.

I second this. How do you use that accursed thing in your day to day job? You seem like a decent human being, so I guess we're curious now.

You're not like one of them well liked sweet lil' old ladies that spike those fresh baked cookies with strychnine are you?
