Damn ,this used to be such a good place to talk about guns and other good things related to life in general, not attend seminars in liberal political Bullshit. Till the clowns get back in their little car and drive away or shut up ,whichever comes first, I need a vacation, Later all!!!

Would like to add a short addenda message to that post,,,To gat and company,,,Instead of sitting back and sniping at everyone elses posts here's a novel idea, maybe actually start a thread for a change, gun related or other useful thoughts, not some long winded diatribe of crappola and how great your political knowledge is... Oh and for Christ's sake, keep it short ..

I don't know about you, but I don't have the time, money, or acreage to talk about guns all the time, I only own three, and I can't talk about them enough without running out of things to say real quickly.

This is in the appropriate forum btw.

Sit back and relax.

What I'm tired of? Having two sides of the same coin.

I WANT A NEW COIN!

Democrats have some good ideas, Republicans have some good ideas, but because it's a "SPORT" not a "MEETING" anymore, no one wants to concede anything.

It's ridiculous. I want SOLUTIONS, not bickering!

It's why I'm becoming more libertarian, and less of either foul stenched entrenchment. A good example is the "Operation Fast and Furious".

Issa, and Grassley are hammering the ATF, well in comes a Democrat who is siding with the ATF because "it's not fair to go against them."

WHAT!?!?!? THE ATF SCREWED UP! ONCE MORE! IT COST AN AGENT HIS LIFE!!!! For the love of Christ's holy name, stop playing a game, and realize that sometimes you have to say "That's messed up, no matter who you are..."

gatlingun6 wrote:Perhaps you can clarify your statement. Is your problem with golf? Or just this President playing golf? Of course none of the candidates are Jesus Christ, however, that has not stopped a couple of them from claiming that his Farther, God spoke to them, and told them to run for President. Hurrah, while it didn't fit you get one point for getting that talking point word "statist" into your post, not that it's particularly relevant.

'

I don't like golf much. I much prefer baseball or even football. Soccer is ok--but the announcers often don't speak English and so it is harder to follow the game. As for our president playing golf--well he causes too much trouble when he actually tries to do something so I say another round for you sir!

gatlingun6 wrote:Ah it's Governor Rick Perry the new flavor of the month among Republicans who do not like the current nominee crop. I hope he has enough jet black dye for his hair to make it through a Presidential campaign. Anyway why should we consider Perry? He's another social Big Government guy. He wants the Christian God to rule our social life. Economically I'm not sure, altho his actions seem to indicate that God has no interest in economic issues. I for one regardless of party label would never vote for any politician who continually spouts off about God, or who is God fearing", the latter is much too Old Testament for me. My vote goes to the person who I believe is best able to lead our SECULAR nation. The President's other title is Commander in Chief (CIC), not Pastor in Chief (PIC), or Pope. If I'm confused religiously, I turn to my pastor, not a Perry, a Palin, an Obama or a Bachmann.'

I have actually been following Perry for a while--I am from TX and follow TX politics a little bit. Perry is not perfect, he has done some things that have hacked me off, but he is a tough politician and usually is good for 2nd Amendment causes.

As for our nation being secular--well that depends on your point of view. We have a freedom of religion in this country not from religion. Since about 90% of our nation still call themselves at minimum believers in a God I would say we are not very secular at all. But you sir are free to believe whatever you want, that is the beauty of our system. I would much rather have a person of faith in a position of high power, than a person who has a humanistic point of view. However paying taxes, getting our car registration renewed, yep that is always secular.

gatlingun6 wrote:Your second choice is Santorum, a guy who was roundly rejected by his own State. If a politician can't be elected in his State, that's good enough for me. Admittedly, if one wanted religion and government intertwined and wanted federal officials controlling my daughter's womb based on religious views, Santorum is your guy. History suggests that mixing religion and government is toxic to both. I could see Santorum adding an Office of Womb Control (OWC) to hunt down the poor and women of less means who have a back alley abortion. Women of means of course will do what they always did, go somewhere else for abortion services.'

Santorum lost in 2006--yes? Only one of the largest democrat upticks in recent history. For heavens sakes that was the year we got Webb--and has been just great. So I don't hold that loss against him.
As for his pro-life stance--Well I am staunchly pro-life. I don't think that a person should be able to murder someone no matter how small or dependent they are. The only exception would be to save the life of the mother. Back alley abortions have been known a red herring for years, they were never a common occurrence, and just because you make it "safe" for the mother to murder her child does not make it right. Really in today's day and age there is no excuse for it--we have any number of different birth control options to prevent pregnancy, a great deal of resources for a mother to carry a child to term, options that include adoption, and programs to get a mother on her feet after having the baby. So I really don't buy the line "the mom has no other choice" She has plenty of choices, just all the others require her to own up to her actions and grow up.

gatlingun6 wrote:I'm curious about the latest talking point, Sharia law. Since no religious law takes precedence over the Constitution why is Sharia law an issue? Can you name the politician advocating adoption of Sharia law? Is he or she proposing a constitutional amendment to permit Sharia law?

Sharia law is an issue because of how it has been treated in other countries. In Britain, for example, there are places where Sharia law is the law of the land (or neighborhood as it may be) and in this country there have been court cases where the judge has deferred to Sharia law when settling disputes among Muslims. So Sharia law is a slight concern and my response was to say that Hermun Cain is not entirely off base to say he would be concerned to keep Sharia law out of our country.

gatlingun6 wrote:As for a VP Bachman I'm not worried about her intelligence. I'm worried about her far right wing views, and her incessant attempts to rewrite history to justify those views.

I guess as I am more "right wing" with a bit if libertarianism thrown in there I am not at all concerned about her views.

Weird as it may sound, I agree. When I mentioned "some of you peoples ideas are rubbing off on me", I meant it. Stuff like FaF and the shenanigans of TSA (TotalSexualAssault) are really pushing the boundaries of even where I feel comfortable with government-and I LIKE THE IDEA OF A STRONG CENTRAL GOVT!

I will not be voting for any statist tool... I don't care what the letter is before their name. I am sick of the populous forfeiting their conscious in the voting booth in favor of their favorite "cool guy club" in the popularity contest we call the presidential race. If I am presented with picking from statist a$$hole #1 or statist a$$hole #2 then I will cast a protest vote for the Green Party candidate.... I just don't care. I will not be voting for a poor Republican candidate for "party unity against Obama" to turn around and be screwed by my own party (again).

I don't want someone with business experience. I don't want someone who knows all about working in a "meat packing town in Wisconsin". I don't want a president who is compelled to take office and push their brand of morality on me. I don't want a candidate whose selling point is to bombard me with patriotic rhetoric and nationalist fervor (I am from Missouri.... shut the Fv<K up and "Show Me"). I want a statesman who will exemplify the principles of individualism that this country was founded on.

The only candidate that has proven himself to possess any sort of principle or fortitude is Ron Paul. Allow me to plug the Good Doctor...

Ron Paul has never taken a government junket.
He does not participate in the lucrative Congressional Pension Program.
He returns a portion of his annual Congressional Office Budget every year.
He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted to restrict gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise Congressional Pay.
He never voted to increase Executive Branch Power.
He will END the unconstituional FED.
He will phase out the unconstitutional IRS beginning immediately
He will secure the borders
He will limit Big Government in your private affairs
He will Stop Illegal Immigration an No Amnesty
He voted against regulating the Internet
He voted against the un-patriotic so called “Patriot Act.”
He supports a non-interventionist foreign policy yet a strong military
He will end the inflation tax

My picks for 2012....

Ron Paul / Walter Williams

P.S.... I see that Gat6 didn't have Dr. Paul on his list.... It seems the Gat and the mainstream media have something in common.
