Apparently it is no longer appropriate to defend your child, even one with cerebral palsy, from getting bullied at school...or so, apparently, say these school officials and the police. I can understand not wanting to encourage threats against the bus driver, but back in the day, parents would've taken those kids over their knee and given 'em a taste of the belt! I say, Mr. James Willie Jones engaged in some good old-fashioned Proper Parenting. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162- ... 04083.htmlAnd would you believe it--someone over at CNN actually agrees! http://www.cnn.com/2010/OPINION/09/23/n ... .bullying/But I guess I shouldn't be too surprised at this school's reaction. Apparently, nowadays, school officials seem to think that grabbing a 10 year old girl's crotch and such isn't an "act of violence" worthy of self-defense. No, I ain't kiddin', I know of just such a case. Had she punched the other kid back as he deserved, she would've been tossed out of school for "violence on school grounds".

Well, you throw your child to the wolves of the public education system, and you takes your chances...

What bothers me the most about stories like this is when someone stands up for something they believe in with only good intentions and then gets criticized for it - they then turn around and apologize. Why apologize? Because its the PC thing to do? Because after being criticized by the liberals and PC-posse they now change their own values? I have never agreed with apologizing for something one believes to be morally sound and good-hearted just because my words or actions might not be mainstream or PC.

Well, this liberal here damned sure doesn't criticize him! Far as I'm concerned, he did what my Dad would've done in a similar situation. Again, the only valid criticism I can think of him is actually threatening the bus driver. Other than that, RIGHT ON, Mr. Jones!
Now, imagine if that had been, say, Sen. Maria Cantwell's or Sen. Patty Murray's little girl, and either of these Senators had defended her daughter in like fashion. Would *they* be apologizing? Somehow, I doubt it.

That would never happen. They have goons to take care of that sort of thing for them.

Also, the ruling classes children don't usually go to public schools. Those are for us workers.
