Amazon.com shoppers please read
Re: Amazon.com shoppers please read
Rick, it's been a while since I was an Amazon affiliate, but I recall that you got a bigger percentage of the sale if the reader clicked a direct link to the product they bought instead of just clicking a link that led them to a search page. If that's still true, would you be interested in having people contact you to request a direct link to something particular they want, or would that be too much work? For example, if they want to buy a DeSantis holster, they could email you, you could set up a direct link for them to click on via PM, and then you'd get (IIRC) 10% instead of 5% of the purchase price.

Jamie - I'm not sure if the percentage is different or not. It's a good thought - I'll check it out. Thanks!Jamie wrote:Rick, it's been a while since I was an Amazon affiliate, but I recall that you got a bigger percentage of the sale if the reader clicked a direct link to the product they bought instead of just clicking a link that led them to a search page. The amount of Amazon purchases made by my lovely wife will probably pay someones salary.... I will do this from now on...
Actually, I buy a lot of my hunting stuff on there.... it is amazing what you can find on their site and if you have a 'Prime' account it us usually free shipping... just wish I still had the 100 shares I purchase years ago when it was selling for less than $10 share... I held for a while but sold it when it got around $75.... I think it is way over $250 now.... oh, well.... "C'est la vie"

I don't do the internet shopping thing, but GF does. I make her go through here when she orders from Amazon.

Have you joined the SMILE program? We did that in one of the other non-profits I'm on the board with. Works well for us.

Good suggestion. Unfortunately, VGOF isn't registered as a 501(c)(3) organization.flyingron wrote:Have you joined the SMILE program? We did that in one of the other non-profits I'm on the board with. Works well for us.

Maybe we should. I don't think we're making any profits lately.
