I've pretty much given up trying to find ammo locally anywhere near Alexandria. Gilbert's usually has a stock of the more expensive types. I've resigned myself to ordering online and can usually find some at Ammo To Go, DoubleTap, or Cabela's. I used to reload and am poking around now to reassemble a kit. I've got brass, managed to find bullets, but primers are almost as scarce as ammo!

Thanks, VB. I just back ordered a bunch. 3-4 weeks to deliver. I can wait and that should tie me over for a while. I will add those guys to my list though.

I've been a believer that you can find the treasure in the local Walmart if you look hard and are persistent. Well I've came upon this stash recently and needless to say it's now securely stored inside my home gun safe.

I've also consistently spotted 9mm and .40S&W from Blazer, Winchester and Federal in said Walmart or one in Manassas.

Just got back from Walmart in Fair Lakes, they have over a hundred boxes of Federal 9mm, both shelves are completely full! It's $9.47 a box, six box limit!

Stock up!

As of Saturday, the Luray Walmart had a FULL selection of all ammo, including the elusive $16 Fed550 bulk 22lr that every Walmart within 60 miles seems to sell out of in hours, not days. I should have taken a picture, it would be like getting a picture of bigfoot. I havn't seen this Walmart have a full stock of ammo, ever. I think the truck just came in Friday night, and since it snowed Saturday, I was one of the few dummies that ventured out to Walmart, and glad I did, because I had my choice of inexpensive ammo.

Was at Wallyworld in Sterling today...they did have some stuff...

Rifle: 22-250, 223/.556 and 7mm, & a few boxes of bulk .22...no CCi stingers or velocitors or anything cool in .22, there was some .22WMG, & .17 HMR varmit and Round nose

Shotgun : fair amount but nothing in 3.5" tho :(, plenty of 00 buck in 2 3/4

Pistol: 9mm Luger was the only pistol ammo, not even .40's

Carry on!
Be particular, and be vigilant, as the enemy will only attack on two occasions:
When you're ready or when you're not ready.

Also never forget, that everyone who shows up, is not necessarily there to help.

Anyone seen any bulk .22LR? I need a few (thousand) rounds for a Boy Scout outing this weekend. (I know, short notice...don't blame me! I had to wrestle up 500 targets!) :hysterical:
