Dulles AirportIs the Washington Dulles Airport (IAD) considered part of Washington DC or Virginia? I know it is located in NoVa but I just want to make sure that I will not run into any legal hassles as I plan to bring my NFA weapons with me when I fly there.
Re: Dulles AirportBoth Dulles and Reagan Airports are controlled by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority - a strange outfit (use the search in the link below):

Re: Dulles AirportDulles is in Chantilly, Virginia, and Virginia law applies.
Reagan is in Arlington, Virginia, same deal. The trick with Reagan is to make sure you stay in VA when you leave it. Going South from it is safer than going North: http://www.vcdl.org/static/gwp.html

"The Airports Authority Police Department is a full service law enforcement agency with the same responsibility as a county or municipal police agency to enforce the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Airports Authority Police additionally enforce Federal Regulations pertaining to airport operations and the Airports Authority’s rules and regulations, which carry the full force and effect of law. The department’s jurisdiction includes Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport and the Dulles Airport Access Highway." ------------------------------------- I don't know of anything prohibiting NFA firearms or treating them any differently than non-NFA firearms within the Airports Authority jurisdiction. Competition is one of the great levelers of ego.
Re: Dulles AirportI've flown in and out of Reagan with firearms with zero problems. The inspector just checked to make sure they weren't loaded.
Ditto for DullesI flown in and out of Dulles with NFA firearms a couple times. No problems at all.
