My name is Scott. I currently live in Southern California.
My wife's folks live in Williamsburg, they are getting to the age where they need to have somebody close by, so the wife and I are 'planning our escape' so to speak. I grew up in the midwest, so I have always been a bit out of place in this current cesspool of a state I live in...so you don't have to worry about me brining the left coast politics back there, I am on the 'right' side of the issues. I have been an avid shooter and fisherman all my life, and have a few questions about VA.
We will probably be moving within 2 years tops, and I'd like to buy something with enough land to shoot on, 10 or 20 acres, with a nice house. Pond would be a plus. It seems that properties like this in and around Williamsburg are pretty scarce, so I am thinking about something half way between Richmond and Williamsburg to fit the bill. Can anybody give me some pointers on areas I should be looking? Are there any particular counties to avoid as far as discharging a firearms on your own property?
Regardless, I'll be living in VA eventually, and look forward to participating in the future.
