Just ran across this forum this morning. I live about 20 miles south of Richmond. I belong to the Black Creek Shooter's Association and try to get out there with my son to do a little shooting when our days off match.
I try to get to the Richmond Gunshows as often as possible. I mostly look at the rifles, I sometimes look at the handguns and I mostly just walk by the shotguns. There's just something about an accurate rifle, not necessarily a pretty rifle, but an accurate rifle.
I used to be an Appleseed instructor but a series of medical problems over the last couple of years is keeping me from the walking/standing required for that. I still believe teaching folks to shoot rifles is fun and rewarding, I just can't stay on my feet longer than an hour or so without taking a break of about the same time period.
I like to work on my guns (take'em apart, clean'em up, find out why they aren't working right if one is giving me problems) and I like to reload. I used to cast bullets for the handguns and will probably start again this summer/fall.

to the forum! If funds were to ever allow I'm sure I had the potential to addict myself to M1As as well. Nothing's better than putting rounds on target with a big boy's rifle.
