The Health Care Vote "URGENT"

Postby VBshooter » Fri, 02 Oct 2009 15:16:38

That jackass Max Baucus is going to try and get a vote on his crappy health care bill without so much as having it read or the CBO estimating the costs,, It is imperitive that we all contact our Senators and try to stop this insult to the people of this country,, You can use the link to go to the GOA site and send the letter using their email or cut and paste it and send it on your own to Webb and Warner,, This is a big one and calls for our action,,Now!!

It didn't seem like such an unreasonable request. Before the Senate Finance Committee passes one of the most important pieces of legislation in our lifetime, we (the American people) wanted to see two things:

* First, the actual language of the latest anti-gun ObamaCare bill.

* Second, a definitive Congressional Budget Office (CBO) reading of the cost of the legislation, based on its specific language.

But, incredibly, this simple request is too much for Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, who intends to force the committee to vote on the bill with nothing but a "quickie guesstimate" of the cost -- a "guesstimate" which CBO will have to reach WITHOUT EVEN HAVING ACCESS TO THE ACTUAL LEGISLATION.

That's right. The committee has virtually finished consideration of the health care bill -- the most important in our lifetime -- AND THERE IS STILL NO LEGISLATIVE LANGUAGE.

Shouldn't we at least have a cost estimate that is based on what is actually in the bill? Yes, but a full CBO cost estimate would take two weeks -- and this is inconsistent with efforts by liberal Democrats to cram this bill quickly down the throats of the American people.

Moreover, don't you realize that "legislative language is very complex" and the American people are just too stupid to understand it.

Well, are the members of the committee too stupid as well? And what about the CBO? Is it too stupid?

A Third World country would be embarrassed by the sleaze, corruption, and fraud being used to pass the most expansive government intrusion into health care of our lifetime.

It's time to put an end to these disgusting tricks.

ACTION: Call your two U.S. Senators. Ask them to oppose any ObamaCare legislation -- at least until we have two things:

1. The actual legislative language.

2. A definitive Congressional Budget Office (CBO) reading of the cost of the legislation, based on what's in the bill.

You can call your two Senators toll-free at 1-877-762-8762.

You can also use the Gun Owners Legislative Action Center at http://www.gunowners.org/activism.htm to send your senators the pre-written e-mail message below.

----- Pre-written letter -----

Dear Senator:

I would urge you, in the strongest terms, to resist considering any health care bill from the Senate Finance Committee until we have at least two things:

* First, the actual legislative language.

* Second, a definitive Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimate of the cost of the legislation, based on legislative language.

It has been reported that, incredibly, this simple request is too much for Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, who intends to force the committee to vote on the bill with nothing but a "quickie guesstimate" of the cost -- a "guesstimate" which CBO will have to reach WITHOUT EVEN HAVING ACCESS TO THE ACTUAL LEGISLATION.

It is unfathomable to me that the committee has virtually finished consideration of the health care bill -- the most important in our lifetime -- AND THERE IS STILL NO LEGISLATIVE LANGUAGE.

Contrary to Senator Baucus' assumptions, the American people are not too stupid to understand legislation which will affect whether they live or die.

Neither are the members of the committee nor the CBO.

A Third World country would be embarrassed by the sleaze, corruption, and fraud being used to pass the most expansive government intrusion into health care of our lifetime.

Please vote against the legislation under these circumstances.

Sincerely,

I understand your feelings, but if we do absolutely nothing we give up the right to complain or attempt to redress greivances, I can only hope that others are contacting their reps as you and I are, keeping quiet gives those professional money spenders the go ahead to do as they damn well please. Then at election time they'll try and be our freinds again...The Health Care Bill is going to affect future generations severely and if we make no attempt to get it right ,, We can only give them a lame ass shrug of the shoulders and say "sorry". I hate using the kids analogy but it does seem to motivate some of the slower to react types.. The bottom line is this; If we don;t scream as loud and long as we all can, the Dems are going to ram a bad bill loaded with taxes ,fines and fees up our butts and there won't be any kiss first .. All the good that could be in the bill is not;; Tort reform, Competition across state lines, banning Illegals etc: I know this sounds like a broken record but we can;t stop,,, They would love nothing more than for folks to get tired of protesting and just let them do as they please ,, I personally cannot let slimeball political idiots like Pelosi,Baucus,Kerry and Schumer to pass a bill that does nothing for us but costs us money and really doesn;t help anyone. ...

Good deal, Cody.

I realize that most of us are interested in protecting our gun rights, but let us not forget that our 2nd Amendment rights were granted to protect our OTHER rights. If we dont act now to protect these other rights and freedoms how are we going to manage to protect our 2nd Amendment rights? That fight looms on the horizon folks and we must be battle hardened when we find it in our back yard. They are slowly stripping things away. One day our gun rights will be one of the few left and they will come for those too.

Well, the liberals are rubbing their hands with glee after getting the CBO estimate today. I for one and pretty tweaked we arent being allowed to read the proposed legislation. Here's one more letter so send.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear xxxxx,

I am writing you today to urge you in the strongest terms to allow we the people ample opportunity to read the proposed health care legislation prior to any vote in the House or Senate.

We will be forced by law to live with whatever is passed by Congress. Doing this without allowing us to know what it is beforehand is despicable to say the least. Also, I don’t want to hear anyone tell me what the legislation contains – I want to read it for myself as do millions of other Americans.

If what I just wrote does not make sense, here it is in simple terms: how can you, I, or anyone else possibly support or defend this proposed legislation without first reading it? If it is so good, why can we not read it now? Is there something you wish to hide from the good citizens of Virginia? I sincerely hope you give this last question serious consideration.

Stand up now and fight to let us read this proposed legislation and have ample time to comment before the vote or I and many others will spend every waking moment and dollar we have to make sure you never serve in congress again.

Sincerely,

I sent them off DK don't forget to hound your Congressman too,....And now the slug fest begins in the Congress about which things stay and which go...THere's 4 seperate bills to discuss before they get a final,I wonder how much smoke and mirrors we will have to endure before we actaully get a the final bill? Each version screws some group or the other and the piss contest should be outragous,We will have to be extremely aware of what's going on or they WILL shove this thing right down our throats, I don;t trust Warner but Webb did side with 7 other Democrats attempting to pass a resolution allowing the 72 hours. Some congressman are OK and others are snakes, Nye sided with Webb on reading the bills, The CBO office has been influenceded someway if you ask me, there is no way they can predict the costs of medical that close over a ten year period,,One word of note ,,that health care bill won;t even be fully implemented until 2013. We have our work cut out for us or we are going to get screwed royally. The latest rumor is Sen. Harry Reid is going to try ramming a healthcare bill through attached to another tax type bill and we will never see it,, Worth paying attention to.....

Folks we now have two more versions of this health care bill and both are bad news for the country. Pelosi and Baucus are both pushing their version which will essentially take over health care in the US placing almost 20% of our economy under government control. I dont think an explanation is needed for each of us to understand what impact that will have. If you think government sponsored health care is a good idea because you or someone you know cant current afford health insurance - consider this: the congressional bdget office (CBO) has already stated the premiums for Pelosis proposed health care will most likely be more expensive than what is currently available in the commercial sector. Please consider how thats supposed to help anyone out. Also consider that under the proposed law you will be forced to buy it or something else or face a penalty. Some of you might think that the supreme court will eventually strike this as unconstitutional but in the meantime we will all be forced to live with it as a federal law.

Please start calling your congressmen and both senators urging them to vote no on both bills. If you need the numbers look on the left hand menu of this page under "Political Action." The future of this rests in our hands. If congress gets enough calls telling them they will be voted out if they support this they will I promise you vote it down. They dont want to lose their jobs. We must now do ours or we lose big time.

Let's also add the fact that the current bills will contain God only knows what in the way of laws, taxes, restrictions etc: We will hardly be able to read it or be given time to ,let alone decipher it..The arrogance of these SOB:s is amazing, even after being shown that the "Option" was not wanted they're both going to try and shove it down our throats,If that doesn;t say Vote Em Out,nothing does THey also expect us to pay for it right away but not deliver it till 2012 or so..Gee,, right at Obammy's reelction time.. If you care one iota about your future and that of those behind you start the calls, letters, emails whatever you can do..Government health care we don;t need!!

Re: The Health Care Vote "URGENT"

Postby VBshooter » Sun, 01 Nov 2009 11:37:13

IMHO , This radio address delivered by house Republican leader John Boehner hits the top 4 things needed for a decent health care bill that would at least level the field, cut the costs and keep Uncle Sam out of the medical practice.

I’m House Republican Leader John Boehner. At the beginning of this year, I told President Obama and Speaker Nancy Pelosi that Republicans would be ready to work with them whenever possible to address the nation’s biggest challenges. I also said that where there are differences, it was our obligation as a party to explain to the American people how we would do things better. And on the "stimulus," the budget, the energy bill, and health care, we have done exactly that.

As a matter of fact, only Republicans have offered solutions to lower health care costs and make it easier to obtain quality, affordable coverage without imposing a massive burden on the American people.

We first released our health care plan in June, and over the last six months, we have introduced at least eight bills that, taken together, would implement this blueprint. You can go right now to healthcare.gop.gov and get all the details, but for now, I just want to share with you four ideas Republicans have proposed:

Number one: let families and businesses buy health insurance across state lines;

Number two: allow individuals, small businesses, and trade associations to pool together and acquire health insurance at lower prices, the same way large corporations and labor unions do today;

Number three: give states the tools to create their own innovative reforms that lower health care costs; and

Number four: end junk lawsuits that contribute to higher health care costs by increasing the number of tests and procedures that physicians sometimes order not because they think it's good medicine, but because they are afraid of being sued.

These are four smart, fiscally-responsible reforms that we can implement today to lower costs and expand access at a price our nation can afford. Again, you can learn more about these and all the health care initiatives Republicans have supported by visiting healthcare.gop.gov.

The best way to get a sense of what Speaker Pelosi’s takeover of health care looks like is to actually look at it. Just shy of 2,000 pages, it runs more than 620 pages longer than the government-run plan Hillary Clinton proposed in 1993.

This 1,990 pages of bureaucracy will centralize health care decision making in Washington, DC. It’ll require thousands of new federal employees. It’ll put unelected boards, bureaus, and commissions in charge of who gets access to what drug and what potentially life-saving treatment.

And it won’t come cheap. Speaker Pelosi’s health care bill will raise the cost of Americans’ health insurance premiums; it will kill jobs with tax hikes and new mandates; and it will cut seniors’ Medicare benefits.

We now have a choice: we can come together to implement smart, fiscally responsible reforms to improve Americans’ health care or we can recklessly pursue this government takeover that creates far more problems than it solves.

It’s clear where the American people stand on this issue. They‘re frustrated and fed up. The ‘stimulus’ bill isn’t working. Unemployment is rising. The debt to be paid by our kids and grandkids is exploding. And now, Speaker Pelosi’s 1,990-page government takeover of health care.

Enough is enough. Breaking the bank and taking away the freedoms Americans cherish is not the answer to the challenges we face.

This coming week, Republicans will continue to stand on principle, defend freedom, and fight for our better solutions to make health care more affordable and accessible for American families.

Thanks for listening.

But, Spence, everybody knows that the republicans are the party of no and havent put forth anything but criticism about health reform. The havent said anything on tv, radio, the internet, or anywhere else about what they would do. Everybody knows this because the democrats are saying so. Here's a message of support for them:

Yeah I know it's a fantasy to think they'd actually be able to offer alternatives and get them put in the legislation in leiu of the fact that they can't get a word in edgewise with the current group of saviours..Your message of support is much nicer than the one that I use... Will be interesting to see what goes on between now and the vote in the Senate.... I started the sending campaign this morning, will continue right up to the vote if necessary,,,

In addition to the usual things I am telling them to ask themselves one question,, Is this what I want or is it what the people of VA want? Will be worth watching closely in the time coming to see who caves and who speaks up. Neither bill is worth the paper it's written on and they are both Bad News, I do hope people get busy and let them know just what they think about it!
