Riding the short bus, another (bad) gun bill

Postby VBshooter » Sat, 22 Jan 2011 06:41:28

Only took a little time and some of our State Assemblymen have gotten on the short bus to support a magazine ban,, Grandstanding at it;s best in the final stretch to get bills ,,good ,bad or otherwise stupid submitted before the dead line..

From VCDL; Today, Friday, is the last day for bills to be introduced in the 2011 General Assembly session.

One last anti-gun bill seems to have dropped in the hopper today. Anti-gun Delegate Carr and co-patron Delegates BaCote, Englin, Hope, James, McQuinn, Surovell, and Toscano jumping in on the Arizona tragedy:

HB 2524 - Delegate Carr - bans the sale, barter, or transfer of a magazine that will hold 20 or more rounds. Existing magazines that a person has are OK as long as you don't try to sell, barter, or transfer them (it does not ban possession) - VCDL Strongly Opposes this bill

None of those names should come as a surprise,,they grace just about every anti gun vote there is,,, The part that is ridiculous is these morons even attempting this as if it will cause the next wacko to not use a 30 rounder because they passed a law?? pure ididocy in bloom and stupidity at its best!! Not to mention a colossal waste of time...

Yes, a ridiculous bill indeed. Beyond me how they think it might save a life or protect the public. If you know what you're doing you can fire 30 rounds with 3 10 round mags almost as fast as one mag...use combat reloads...fire nine rounds and leave the last in the chamber with pistol cocked and ready to fire...drop the mag, slap another in and drive on...you use the time for the mag change to acquire another target...all you have to do is count...oops, I better be quiet or they might get the idea to ban 10 round mags too...

Any mag which holds 1 or more round is clearly a threat to society. This is why my next rifle is a single shot, bolt action. No deadly mags to deal with and bolts, unlike those evil semi-autos which look like machine guns, never go on an autonomous killing spree.

All cartridge ammunition is hereby banned due to the ease in which multiple rounds can be fired consecutively. It has been found that many times, these bullets take on a mind of their own and many of their bullet friends follow in quick succession - very much like lemmings.

Therefore, today, be it enacted that the only firearms legal for ownership are muzzleloaders, since they don't use bullets with a mind of their own. One at a time - steady as she goes - the way a gun should be.

It has come to my attention gun-crazies can use a metal tube and a nail to fire a bullet. Ergo, i have introduced legislation banning tubes and nails. I'm sure our plumbing and construction industries will find some other means of dealing with their own needs.

A rider will also ban the existence of nitrogen, a crucial component in the manufacture of powder, and apparently 70% of our atmosphere; the toposphere better have a good lawyer!
So rattle my bones all over the stones, I'm only a beggar-man whom nobody owns. Oh, see how words as old as sin, fit me like a glove.

I'm here and here I'll stay.

Better add wood to that list as shown in the Clint Eastwood film about the secret service... BG used a wooden gun to get in to attempt assasinating the president

I have to agree, another useless restriction on the law abiding gun owners. You want to stop the killings, go after the black market sale of firearms! Or maybe the liberals are afraid of violating their right to obtain illegal weapons! Not that they have a right to buy illegal weapons, but I think most of you will get my point.

Going after black market wont stop it either and the only way effective way IMO to eliminate a black market is lift all regulations and bans. As long as there are people here on earth in this present age there will be killings and mayhem. There is no way to stop it. UK banned guns and murders continued. Some bright person figured out that pointed kitchen knives were quickly becoming the weapon of choice...then the bulbs dimmed and they banned those too. Recall the kid in Chicago that was beaten to death by thugs with a 2x4. The reports said that bystanders watched the incident. So, ban 2x4s? What about the bystanders. Ok, so the 2x4s are gone. Brickbats, baseball bats, heavy piece of tree limb, leather belt, boots, fists, cars, push em off a roof, Molotov cocktails, or simply strangle them. Only by accepting that there are simply folks who will do/use whatever means at hand to kill someone will we be able to deal with this problem. Then perhaps we can focus on enforcing the laws we currently have on hand and meet out swift justice for those who violate them.

Case in point - the shootings in Tuscon. There are already state and federal statutes with severe penalties on the books for shooting someone with intent to kill or killing someone. Those laws didnt stop that twit from what he did. Nor did the knowledge of what would happen. Nothing would have stopped him short of someone else armed that shot him AFTER he drew his own weapon.

Things like this magazine ban and other outragously stupid ideas coming from the antis is reason enough to pay attention to just who supports them.. Good example is the upcoming United Nations small arms treaty that Obama and Billary so graciously lent the US's support to. It's step 1 in disarming the populice on the way to completely absurd laws as in Canada and the UK. We need to keep ourselves totally attentive to each and every attempt at restrictions ofany kind...

Spence, you got a source for the UN treaty. I know what it is and we've discussed it before but so far it has not been sent to the senate by the president. Have you seen anything in the news?

It's a real patchwork of BS finding specifics,, My last ussue of Freedom from NRA noted the "meeting early this year in NY for more preparations. Even the UN website is a mess of jibberish to figure out,,, The vote isn't scheduled until sometime in 2012 as far as I can tell... But there are going to be at least 2 meetings per year to draft this peice of garbage,,
http://www.ammoland.com/2010/07/25/nra-ila-gun-owners-rights-at-un-arms-trade-treaty/ This is pretty much representative of what's out there and we need to be extra wary of this ,,I personally think Old Harold Koh the traitor has his slippery ass fingers in this deeply with legalese to make a grown lawyer salivate,,, whatever is written and when it comes out we all had better be very ready to oppose it through every means we have.

If the sicko in Tucson had run a tractor trailer into the crowd, would we be looking to ban trucks?

The logic of the anti-gun lobby is impeccable - bad guy wants to shoot someone, has his guns and ammo packed and ready, and suddenly realizes, 'Drat! I cannot carry these weapons! That would be illegal! However shall I carry out my plans now? :bangin: '

Used to be traitors were dealt with quickly in this country and in some pretty nasty ways,, now the SOB;s are holding office, being appointed and openly defying the people to do anything about it...IMHO any treaty and its supporters that would seek to nullify any part or portion of our Constitution is getting pretty damn close to it if not right on it.... That type of thing , along with outragous amounts of regulation is just what the current Administration is shooting for to get its goals met before Obama and his clan get the boot in 2012 (Yup ,,said "shooting") PC is BS
