SPRINGFIELD, Va., Oct. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Law Enforcement Alliance
of America (LEAA), the nation's largest coalition of law enforcement
professionals, crime victims and concerned citizens, announces its strong
endorsement of Ken Cuccinelli for Attorney General of Virginia. LEAA
representatives will join with the campaign for the rally in Springfield,
Virginia on Saturday, October 31st.
LEAA Executive Director and retired police officer Jim Fotis remarked, "I'm
proud to endorse Ken because he will be a GREAT Attorney General. LEAA joins
with other police groups including the Fraternal Order of Police, and
distinguished police leaders like Sheriff Charles "Charlie" Jett and Sheriff
Stephen Simpson and over eighty more law enforcement leaders to announce the
police community's overwhelming endorsement of Cuccinelli."
Fotis noted, "Ken has earned almost four times as many endorsements from those
who represent the brave men and women who police our streets than did his
opponent; more than eighty different law enforcement leaders have publicly
announced their support for Ken."
"Concern about violence and crime -- and protecting the innocent from crime --
is a top tier priority for most residents and voters in the Commonwealth and
that is why the election for Virginia's next 'Top Cop' is so critically
important. This year, crime fighting takes on added importance: the need to
attract new businesses and people to move and invest in the Commonwealth of
Virginia. To do this, we must be seen as a safe and stable state and Ken
Cuccinelli is, hands down, the best candidate to get that job done," said
LEAA's Chief Operating Officer, Ted Deeds.
"Ken Cuccinelli stands out in this race as the best candidate not only because
of the overwhelming support from police but also because, unlike his opponent,
he is a proven defender of honest Virginians' right to Self-Defense and the
Second Amendment. Cuccinelli has the enthusiastic support and endorsement of
every major Second Amendment group in Virginia; earning endorsements beyond
LEAA's to include The National Rifle Association, Virginia Citizens' Defense
League and the Virginia State Shooting Sports Association," Fotis observed.
