I never heard a damn word you said,,, I got this reply from Mark Warner regarding the Paul amendment to the Patriot Act and as usual our boy voted against it while claiming to be a staunch supporter of the 2nd amendment and citizens gun rights.. Uh ,,OK,,,,,,,Now wether or not the Paul Amendment would have been good we;ll never know, what gets me is the all purpose BS he throws while pretty much supporting every anti gun thing DC has to offer,,
From Mark Warner/
Thank you for contacting me about the USA PATRIOT Act and Senate Amendment 363.
On May 26, 2011, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) proposed Senate Amendment 363, which would prohibit the use of any PATRIOT Act investigative authority for the investigation of certain firearms records. I voted to table this amendment because the PATRIOT Act investigative authority applies only to investigations of suspected terrorists and does not infringe on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens. Law enforcement agencies currently have the authority to examine gun records of private gun dealers as part of a legitimate criminal investigation. Yet, the Paul Amendment would have provided an exemption that would be available to terrorist suspects and would have taken away critical tools for the law enforcement community to investigate suspected terrorists. The motion to table this amendment was agreed to in the Senate by a vote of 85 to 10. The eighty-five Senators who opposed the Paul amendment included many Senators who share my belief in the right of citizens to keep and bear arms.
I support public policies that ensure the responsible and appropriate use of guns, as well as efforts to reduce gun-related crimes through increased enforcement and background checks. I do not, however, support laws or regulations that infringe on the Second Amendment Constitutional right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms. That is why, as a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, I will work to ensure that the authorities granted to law enforcement through the USA PATRIOT Act are used in strict accordance to the law, and under close supervision by both Congress and the courts.
Wonder why he never mentions his support of Sotomayer, the other fat broad, Eric Holder, Cass Sunstein and God knows how many other anti gunners and legislation... I hope he enjoys his one term
