Calling for public hearings, review and God knows what kind of fix to the gun laws and the NICS system, Judiciary Committee Democrats are chomping the bit in the aftermath of the Tuscon shootings. Fortunately the Chairman Lamar Alexander (R TX) has a cooler head and has said NO!,, The antis like Brady are whining of course, the Dims are sniveling and as usual are overreacting attempting to invoke public sympathy for an agenda simply based on emotional outcry.

The GOP chairman of the House Judiciary Committee has rejected a Democratic request to schedule public hearings on gun safety in the wake of this month's attempted assassination of an Arizona congresswoman.

We're going to see and hear a lot of this sort of thing in the months to come. Boring as it may be we still have to remain very aware of the reation to it and act accordingly ourselves to defend our rights from gun grabbing politicans that wouldn't know what's right if it kicked em in square in the ass in public.

Republicans need to chill too...my bet is that some of them will sell us out.

Hopefully not,,But I would venture that any that do will have committed political suicide or really were RINO's in disguise. Crosshairs anyone? Thats the biggest problem with emotional guided anything, It clouds the brain and leaves common sense by the way side. The ones that are pissing me off are the ones that say "I support the 2nd amendment" but........... I think yada yada yada in this instance....We gotta stand firm on this one.. "NO COMPROMISE" There is no such thing as Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy and especially "sensible gun control. Its a friggin Fairy Tale created to lull idiots into following the Judas through the gate to full government control of them and denying the God given right to defend themselves and their family.

Well I honestly think that many of us on the right are going to be severely disappointed in the republicans especially if the left decides to enact their sensible control crap in little bits. The best thing obama can do for us if he decides to push gun controls is go after something really big. If he decides to baby step it then I fear more republicans will follow along...

I'm pretty confident that, due to the number of pro gun Republicans and Democrats in the Senate, that most of this grandstanding that we're seeing in the House won't amount to much. If anything, old Harry Reid will probably block any gun control agenda from taking up too much of the Senate's time.

That's a bet I'm not willing to even consider unless you give me million to one odds. Then I'll bet $10 and consider it a donation to DKs ammo fund.

The House is packed full of anti-gun Republicans. If it weren't for being balanced out by the pro-gun Senate, Peter King would use his new Homeland Security Committee Chair to pass all kinds of crazy anti-gun legislation. Luckily for us, the NRA makes it really hard for anti-gun Senators to get elected, and they make it worthwhile for extremely liberal Senators, like Harry Reid, to support gun rights even if it seems contradictory to their other stances. Harry knows that the NRA is all that stands between his cushy Senate leadership position and unemployment.

That UN gun treaty is one to keep very close tabs on ,It in effect would null our Constitution and screw us up good... All the talk from the dipshi7s on the Dems side is ridiculous babbling from know nothing idiots but regrettably this is the garbage some in the public arena beleive and support, One thing to consider ,,We don't hear a lot of the negative coming from everyday people...Only the Anti Gun groups and publicity hungry hero wannbe politicians that attempt to influence the agenda with their lies and made up facts.,,, IMHO it;s going to be a Mexican Stand off and whoever blinks first is the one that's gonna lose.. Our position is "No Compromise" to any of their lies....We need to continue on the same course we have been on, Less restrictions and strict adherence to the Constitution as it was intended.

I hear you on the keep an eye on it, but that whole treaty argument never made any sense. How is it that our government can not do something unless they get a foreign power to approve of it too? I can hear the debate now..."the 2nd protects guns unless the redcoats make a treaty with us which says it doesn't..." The Federal government can't legally agree to any treaty which requires them to exercise powers they don't have. It's like me trying to sell your house without your consent.

All too true for sure...The opinions on this thing are varied and run the spectrum of God Given to total BS ,,,,,I always knew it this way,,It takes a 2/3 vote in the Senate to pass any treaty and I don;t think Obama can muster up the votes considering it isn't scheduled to appear until next year and then that's not confirmed true yet either.Billary and her hired gun Harold Koh will do their damnest to get it through but IMHO it will be DOA when it arrives////

My bet is that "some" of them will sell us out and thats a suckers bet. Some will and some wont. Question is how the left plays it, If they do baby steps then it might just fly...
